Nice cabin, maybe not ideal for children under 5?
We were so looking forward to our stay at Lazy Trout and overall we had a good time! A few little hiccups that Cory was very quick to address.
Cabin cleanliness:10/10
Communication w/host:10/10
Safety/functionality of Cabin for young kiddos: 5/10
(1. the staircase is completely open to the living room w/handrail only on the wall side. And no landing rail so no ability to put a baby gate up. This was an over-site on my part as there are photos of the stairway, but I just didn’t look close enough to notice this. 2. The bar top table was not functional at all for us with two kiddos three and under who need booster seats. 3. Stairs outside are steep, which I mean we hold our kiddos hands anyway, but these were quite steep. However the railing around the porch is very kid safe/friendly, just have to watch out for the stairs.)
Amenities 7/10: a couple essentials that were missing were quickly addressed by Cory and we really appreciate that. But some basic ones like body soap and shampoo never arrived (wound up driving into town to buy some - which is fine, but I’ve never stayed somewhere these things weren’t provided unless it specifically stated it was not prior to our stay). Playground was listed in the amenities, however there was no playground at this cabin. There is a nice riverside playground ~10 minutes down the road which is what we wound up going to.
Overall we enjoyed our stay, but just a few things to keep in mind if you’re traveling with toddlers
