Very nice for historic property. They could use a little power cleaning on the outside of the bldgs but other than that the staff were super friendly and accommodating.

Loved this hotel but have one complaint. The rooms are not sound proof and you could hear people passing by the room, talking outside, etc.

I was impressed by the cleanliness of the room upon arrival and the beautifully made bed and display of towels. Unfortunately, i was not impressed by the young lady we first encountered upon early arrival. She made no attempt to make us feel welcome nor did she offer any introduction to the property so we had to acclimate ourselves until 3 pm. check in. At that time, she did what we would have expected when we arrived. On the other hand, DeAnne, who was on the evening desk was beyond amazing! She was warm, welcoming, very accommodating and absolutely as pleasant as could be! Much thanks to DeAnne for all she did to make us feel valued as guests!! Sadly, our room became infested with Midgets, aka blind mosquitoes, and DeAnne assisted in immediately relocating us to the main building, even giving us a choice of two rooms. Again, much thanks to DeAnne! My reason for rating the property a 3 is because it feels dated and in need of external cleansing. The windows and external walls are covered with bugs, the pool bar area is less than tidy, and the carpeting is badly worn. For these reasons, I cannot give a rating higher than 3.

We stayed 2 nights at the Lakeside Inn. Great location, very clean, great view of the lake. Short walk to town with lots of shopping and dining options. The pool was beautiful! We had breakfast and lunch right at the inn, both were excellent, and service was top notch. The bartender Lauren makes a great Manhattan! We would recommend anyone going to Mt Dora to stay at the Lakeside Inn.

What a gem!! This hotel is more like a resort, but with the charm of an old, southern, colonial estate. It’s gorgeous! The rooms even have regular keys with a little brass key tag with your room number. The rooms were clean, have great a/c and tv, and a very comfortable bed. There’s no microwave or fridge which was fine, we don’t use them. The pool was huge and well kept, and overlooked the lake just like the pictures suggest. The staff was welcoming and super helpful. We walked into town and although we found it a bit overpriced, lots of shopping and dining available. We already have plans to stay again soon!
