Unfortunately, because I stayed during a holiday weekend, my room rate skyrocketed to nearly $500. The room itself was noisy and the pillows were completely uncomfortable, somehow managing to be simultaneously too stiff and too soft. Great location. Sort of felt like a quality inn or an econo lodge.

Beware! This hotel has NO a/c, and an elevator on one side only. Rooms have ceiling fans, and windows with no screens. Gnats in bathroom, and coffee area. Upon check-in,the two men were super nice and helpful. The next morning, a man and women, didn’t even greet us when we walked past. The coffee shop next door was excellent! We also loved the open air market, held every Tuesday.

I had a great visit to Monterey, CA. The weather was incredible and being close to Monterey Bay was so nice. I enjoyed my stay at the Monterey Hotel. The staff was very nice and it is within walking distance of Fisherman’s Wharf and the walking path up and down the bay. The hotel was built many years ago and is positioned to catch the nice breeze that Monterey Bay offers. Great food and beautiful scenery all around.

A unique hotel for a night stay in a quaint seaside harbor City. With interest and realistic historical rooms for a seaside city. Ensure the weather is in the chiller side if you are used to modern hotel rooms. Lots of shops and things to do in the area and very nice and friendly hotel staff.

This is an old classic hotel and as such has its charm and a fantastic location. However, it could need some freshening up. The floor carpets are unpleasant looking and there is no AC. Monterey weather allows for keeping windows open, the local seagulls do not. I did appreciate them allowing dogs though.

Great staff! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Walls are a little thin but that’s not the hotels fault really. Had a nice stay. Walked to the beach. Would highly recommend for its price point.
