Monte Cinto

Stage 4 of the GR20 leaves the Asco ski station, heads up toward Monte Cinto, over Bocca Crucetta and down the other side to Auberge U Vallone. This photo was taken midway through the ascent to Bocca Crucetta. After a serious accident in 2015 when seven people were killed, the traditional stage four route through the infamous Cirque De La Solitude was rerouted to this stage four variant. Although this route is not nearly as difficult as the previous I still found it to be a long and strenuous section. #mountains photo challenge #hiking
