"The apartment is nice and spacious, but very dated and needing repairs, it was however cleaned every day. The staff were all lovely. The apartments are down a hill, so be prepared for a hike up to the shops etc. They are next to a very good shopping mall with supermarket and food court. Not very much else round about. The apartments are situated 15mins on the road train to the new town and about 30mins to the old town which would only be about 15mins if you walked. I would not stay at these apartments again due to the location. I prefer to be near the beach. ."

"The Vila Gale Cerro has everything that you would need at a resort hotel. We were able to enjoy the pool area which had food and drink options throughout the day. Pool was a bit cool but refreshing and large - perfect for a hot day. We had no problem finding pool loungers in the middle of the afternoon - plenty of space. The location of the hotel is also convenient for walking to the beach and nightlife. Room was clean and comfortable with a nice balcony. Great option for a stay in Albufeira!"

"We were a family of 6 adults ranging in age from 22 to 57. The villa was perfect for us. It was very spacious with a great outdoor space. We loved the pool, how close it was to the beach and old town. I would not hesitate to rent again and would recommend. Minor points were it would have been nice to have some starter essentials. "

"I felt I should write a review after reading lots of bad reviews about this hotel, as I had a very pleasant stay. The hotel is very basic and doesn't have air conditioning but I knew this before booking. My room didn't get a lot of sun and the temperature was fine. It is clean and there were cleaners working all the time. There are a lot of steps in it but I didn't have a problem with that, there is an elevator. All the photos the hotel provides are exactly how it is. There is a lovely view from the pool and breakfast area. Breakfast was basic, as expected but enjoyable due to the lovely views. It is in an elevated position above the old town, so I would usually walk to the town, which isn't far and get an uber back, which was €4. The lady at reception was very pleasant. Overall, I knew what I had booked before I arrived and I didn't expect five star facilities at a two star hotel. Also I was travelling on my own and felt safe. "
