THE HOUSE
The property has 2 good sized bedrooms and 2 nice bathrooms. The lounge kitchen area is also very comfortable. It has everything that one could possibly need, very well equipped. The design is in keeping with the area but still very current. It is very obvious that this house is superbly maintained and very well looked after. The cleanliness was of a very high standard. Air conditioning, a big fridge, a good sized TV and internet were very nice extras!
THE GROUNDS
The property sits within a large garden adorned with olive, lemon, apple and fig trees. Around the house is fully paved and there is a table, swing chair and lounge area perfect for the evenings. The house also has a wonderful bbq which we used often. There is an outside shower which faces the garden so is fully private, we all used this as our main shower daily! Imagine the beauty of showering out in the open looking out onto the beauty of the natural garden. The water, which is solar powered had good pressure and was hot. There are electric gates for the car and the space to park is huge. At the back of the garden there is a little forest with a stone table and chairs. Always cool and beautifully quiet. Again the grounds are superbly maintained and it is obvious that the owners put a lot of time and effort into maintaining it.
THE AREA
As always in the summer, things are manic with so many summer tourists. Our area though remained calm and quiet. The local shop, which you can walk to has absolutely everything that you need. The shop owner is incredibly nice and friendly! Shopping is calm, there are no queues or grappling to throw your shopping into a bag. Down the road from the house there is a beautiful little church and you can hear the bells every morning. They have small local events in the summer which is nice to go to and immerse yourself into the culture. With that said, the house is located about 25 minutes away from the beaches and Otranto town. We drove to the beach everyday and it was an easy journey through beautiful olive groves. I recommend Alimini beach, the free part. Otranto is stunning and has a lot to offer, stalls, lights, restaurants and a stunning old town.
THE OWNERS
Rosalba, her husband and son are literally there to accommodate your every need. No request was too big for them! Whatever you need they will accommodate. A lot of their time is put into making sure you are happy and comfortable.
