The rooms were very specious, nicely decorated, comfortable bed, huge shower. Takes a little while for the hot water to get hot, but stays hot and has great water pressure.
Newton 46 is a once-lovely, aging building in an enviable location in posh Polanco, within walking distance to Chapultepec park and dozens of restaurants and shopping.
There are around-the-clock doormen who are perfectly polite and serviceable. The street door is kept locked, and the doormen rush to unlock it for you as soon as they lay eyes on you.
We got a two-bedroom two-bath unit with views of the street below. This particular unit could use new bathroom vanities and a coat of paint, but we didn’t really mind. The beds and pillows were comfortable and the sheets new and crisp. The nice drapes keep the early morning light at bay.
The rooms and bathrooms get cleaned daily.
In short, excellent value for what you get.
Pro: service was incredible. Very friendly staff, cleaning services every day, they even did dishes I had in the sink. It was awesome to come back to freshly made beds.
> extra pro: on the listing it said I was getting a 1 bed… got a 2 bedroom apartment!! Wow!
Cons: the building is very loud, not bc people are inconsiderate, but bc there is no insulation and you can hear the pipes, people walking, etc all night long. The street is comparatively quiet, but still plenty of noise to keep you up. There was a lot of hammering during the day on the other side of my bedroom, which made catching up on sleep hard. The mattresses are pretty hard.
What a beautiful property! The area is stunning, but honestly a little too fancy—we were in the area to attend a show. After the madness of Roma (which we know is tame compres to other areas!) Polanco and this amazing property felt almost too lavish.
A really wonderful experience
No warm or hot water at all whatsoever; all our showers were freezing cold water. Additionally, there is NO HEATING for the accommodation with only a single space heater to place in the bedroom.
Victor at the front desk tried his absolute best, but it was obvious he physically could only do what he could recommend for us to do, so this was not his fault at all - he was THE.ONLY.GOOD.THING about this property.
My son now has a throat and ear infection we will need to see a doctor to treat

Suite needs major updating/fixing. The cabinets are falling apart. The floor has a major issue in the floor under the carpet, feels like floor is missing.
I had reserved 2 beds but got only one, the manager lied and said I reserved one bed. I checked with Expedia support and I had reserved 2 beds so it was a ripoff. The place we had was dingy, the hot water was not hot. Wifi was bad.
They did finally move us to another room that did not have TP for 2 days, the stove did not work and all the other issues remained except we finally had 2 beds. I did not plan on my vacation being taken over by my needing to fight for what I paid for.
