"This is a hostel - don't come expecting hotel luxury. Having said that, I found the following great: extremely cheap, has everything you need, VERY friendly and helpful staff."

"Advertised as a private room but was actually a dorm (same story reported by other travelers). Sheets instead of curtains. Told off for talking at 11pm. Noisy repairs underway from 7am. Floors never swept, tables sticky. Gave the property 3 days notice I would be leaving early but they still refused even a partial refund for the remaining nights, leaving me hundreds of dollars out of pocket. Absolute money grubbing. Stay away."

"Hotel was lovely and so was the staff ! Needed additional laundry detergent for the machine and asked at the reception and no problem at all, always had new water bottler an new/clean items at the room. "
"The room was really spacious and comfortable. The air conditioner wasn’t responding properly but it wasn’t a problem as it was a bit chilly.
The staff was helpful, there was an issue with the lights which they fixed immediately.
The hotel is at a five minute walk from a shopping centre area with plenty of restaurants and a tube station (Line 5)"
"The rooms are extremely dated, the cleanliness standard is really poor. The linen had holes, I found hairs on my pillow. Notable build up of dust in the unit with the fridge and behind the desk. I have terrible dust allergies so this was not great. The pillows smelled and the bathroom shelves had mould as well as the grout. The taps were limescale, the bathroom amenities were almost never refilled, (toothbrush, toothpaste) the hairdryers are at least 10-15 years old. Outlets falling off, heavily stained lobby carpets and extremely old and yellowing telephones. The breakfast is 70% reheat of last night's or night befores dinner - I am 100% sure of this being true because I arrived at 6:30am for breakfast, which is when it opens, and the noodles were cold in the tray currently warming up. Breakfast options are very poor and gross, the fruit selection is even worse. If you don't know what a 5 star hotel looks like, then go ahead and book. Had to change my room because of cleaning issues, but you simply cannot fix so many management issues. This is no fault of the reception who tried their best to accommodate but if you're going to be handing yourself stars this was worse than a 3 star hotel. I've stayed in hotels across the globe and this is by far the worst. I lost numerous hours trying to resolve housekeeping failures that shouldn't be my job. Wouldn't recommend this to anyone."
"Our family recently stayed four nights at the Grand Hyatt Beijing, and overall it turned into a truly memorable experience.
We did encounter some issues with the room condition on the day we checked in, which was a bit stressful given our tight schedule during a short stay in Beijing. However, what really stood out was how the hotel handled the situation. The staff went above and beyond to make things right and ensure the rest of our stay was comfortable and enjoyable.
In particular, we would like to thank Eva at the front desk. She was incredibly kind, professional, and handled everything with such care and efficiency. Her attentiveness and warmth made a lasting impression on us. Honestly, nearly every staff member we interacted with reflected that same level of hospitality, and we are very grateful.
The location of the hotel is another major highlight. It is extremely convenient—situated above an underground shopping mall with direct access to two metro lines, and within walking distance to major attractions like Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. There are also countless dining options nearby, along with easy access to shopping areas.
The hotel itself is well maintained, and we especially enjoyed the indoor pool and spa facilities, which were perfect for families. Breakfast was also a standout—an impressive selection with excellent quality that made for a great start to each day.
Despite the initial hiccup, the exceptional service truly made all the difference. "
