The gite is part of a beautifully designed modern Provencal home, set in a lovely quiet countryside setting away from the nearby town of Mazan, and overlooked by Mount Ventoux. On arrival the gates were open to us, and the driveway lined with flowers. Madame Feron welcomed us with a huge basket of fresh fruit, wine, homemade jams and a light meal that was very tasty after our journey. Over a slice of strawberry tart and a glass of flavoured wine, she elicited ideas of what we wanted to do and see in the area, and provided very useful information. She spoke very good English but was happy for us to practice our French.
Her home, set in a carefully tended garden, consists of pool house, Madame's house, a covered car port, and the little house that was to be ours for our holiday. The whole garden was open to us and was safe for children to roam. Madame loves children and has toys galore available, both in the grounds and in the pool. The pool is heated to 30 degrees and is wonderful, especially with the view of Mount Ventoux. We were allowed to use it whenever we wished. There were bicycles to use also. Our little house had everything we needed for a very restful stay. It was beautifully clean, the bed was very comfortable, and there were lots of little extra supplies in the bathroom, and in the kitchen. Madame's daughter will also provide a very relaxing massage in her salon in a nearby town.
The 2 unique features of this Villa en Provence are the gem of a pool and the very welcoming owner.
