Chapman Cottage ~Deep Water, Hot Tub, Dock, Kayak, Games

  • Just 17 minutes off I85, our gorgeous 6 bedroom cottage offers everything a family or group could want in a lakefront getaway. You'll be on a wide but uncongested part of the lake. Bring your own boat year round, the free public boat ramp only 5 minutes away. From our dock you'll enjoy the provided kayaks, paddle board, or a swim at the dock in the calm waters of the quiet cove. We look forward to hosting you at our place.

    Important things to know:
    -The driveway is very steep. If there is a threat of snow/ice, accessibility may be limited.
    -There is a set of stairs from the parking area down to the main entrance.
    -The path to the dock is sloped, but is relatively short and winds gradually down to the water. Guests with mobility limitations should consider whether it will be comfortable for them.
    -The parking area can fit a maximum of 4 cars before you have to park on the steep sloped driveway, or on the pad at the top of the driveway.
    -Boat trailer parking is available on the property.
    -The boat shown in some photos is not available for guest use or charter.
    -Although some are provided, guests are responsible for providing properly sized life jackets for everyone, especially for infants and young children.
    -Lake levels and shoreline conditions can vary throughout the year due to weather and lake management practices. The private dock has deep water year-round, even during periods when lake levels are lower than normal. Check with me before you book if you're concerned about water level.

This is a luxury get away location with absolutely top notch management at an affordable price. Communication with Peter was super easy and the cottage itself had everything one could ask for. The organization from check-in, to life in the cottage, to check-out reflected a true focus on what will make this a pleasure for the guests. Not only was this super well managed; it's a beautiful cottage on a gorgeous section of the lake. The lake water level was very low and despite that, the deck was well positioned for swimming off of it into deep water. We rented a pontoon boat while we were there, tied up to the dock and skied in the large area just outside the inlet. The trip between the cottage and Harbor Light Marina is a pleasurable 30 to 40 mins with awesome scenery. I highly recommend this rental.

We had the absolute pleasure of being the very first guests at this beautiful vacation home over the Fourth of July weekend, and it exceeded every expectation! We had a large group of family spanning multiple generations, and there was more than enough room for everyone to spread out while still enjoying time together. The spacious common areas made family meals, game nights, and relaxing together so easy without ever feeling crowded.The short walk down to the dock was one of our favorite features. We spent our days on the water, and having convenient access made everything so much more enjoyable. There are also great local options for boat and jet ski rentals nearby, which made planning our lake days effortless.The house was stocked with games that kept the kids entertained during downtime, which was such a thoughtful touch. Even with the holiday weekend, the neighborhood was calm, peaceful, and quiet—perfect for relaxing after a fun-filled day.If you’re looking for a place that comfortably accommodates a big family, offers easy lake access, and provides a peaceful retreat, this is it. We feel lucky to have been the first guests and can’t recommend this home highly enough. We would absolutely stay here again!

What a wonderful place this is!!!! It totally accommodated our group of 8 adults and 3 kids comfortably. Everything was laid out well and even labeled accordingly! Peter was very prompt in our communication and is very helpful with everything down to the final details. I highly recommend this house to anyone who wants to enjoy their time on Lake Hartwell. We absolutely loved it!

Unbelievably lovely and beautiful house with everything you could want. So many nice touches in the house from coffee and espresso machines to storage and ice makers and towels and space for enjoying the lake. Comfortable, clean, lots of great spaces to hang, play games, and see the views. Everything was labeled and easy to get to. Our family and friends had a great lake week. We rented a boat from Harbor Light marina which was about 30 min boat ride back to the house where it was easy to dock. Kids loved all the toys and basement space. Can’t wait to come again!
