Loved the view of the Snake River
This house was great. Well stocked and plenty of towels for everyone. We rented the whole house and there was lots of room in the game room and upstairs for everyone to be comfortable. We had a very nice time.

Great location, but could use some extra TLC
The house is large and has almost everything you need. Very bright and light and rooms are comfortable. We really enjoyed the game area and had lots of fun playing and spending time together as a family. However, the cleanliness was not what I was expecting, especially given the cost of the cleaning fee AND the extensive check out requirements. Host should really post these on the listing because they far exceed any other requirements I have had to do before when staying at places like this. You are basically doing 80% of the cleaning when you check out. The kitchen is 100% cleaned by the previous renters. This meant all cups, bowls, plates, silverware....everything wasn't very clean. I had to clean the stove top before our first use because it was sticky with grease. Food was left in one of the ovens from the previous renters, showing the cleaning crew doesn't really check everything. What else did they miss? We used the BBQ and it was disgusting (plus located on the bottom floor, not the top deck as listed). There was a beautiful set of windows that overlooked the river from the kitchen breakfast nook. But it was GROSS! Looks like the cleaning crew hasn't wiped or dusted a window in several months. And you cannot use the outdoor furniture. It was covered in dirt and grime. Overall, we had a good time because we chose to make the best of it but I will definitely look for a different location next time we come to this area.

Riverside getaway
We really enjoyed our time at this property, such beautiful views of the river. We used all 7 bedrooms with 12 adults and 2 children. The layout of the house is fabulous, they provided everything you might need from linens to kitchen items. The downstairs play area was a huge hit with the ping pong table to the pool table and the owners were great to work with. Definitely would stay here again if we're back in that area.

Great Family Home and Venue
Our family gathered from all over the Country in this beautiful home for Christmas. The home accommodated our large family and was an ideal location being on the river, close to family activities and in a friendly small town. It is close to wineries too! Family vacation at the River Retreat
River Retreat was perfect for our family. So much space made it comfort for everyone. The views are Beautiful and never get old to wake up to. The peacefulness and atmosphere and again the views made everything just more perfect! The town is so cute and really there is so much to do. OC coffee down the road is adorable and good coffee and hospitality is served. I think my 1 and only small complaint would be the army of gnats that come out at night but that’s life by the River. We would definitely come back! Thank you Margie for always being available for my random questions. This was our first time staying in a VRBO and you made the experience perfect!

Large home with everything you would need
This was a perfect place for our group of 14 to rent while we got ready for a wedding right down the road. The rooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. It had everything you needed from linens, to kitchenware and fishing poles. The river out back was a nice touch; we caught several bass and catfish over the weekend. A few things to be cautious about: the knives in the kitchen are all dangerously dull, there are 2 cameras that we saw that we did not know about when we first booked the place, the listing is a little misleading about the extra rooms and bathroom that you had to pay extra for, the check-out cleaning process was very extensive. Overall the house is definitely worth it and I would surely book here again. Thanks!

Matt, Thank you for the feedback and so glad you enjoyed your stay and the amenities and location! We appreciate the note about the knives! We will address that right away. There is a "RING" sign fully visible right in front of the garage. The cameras are both outdoors and are necessary for security purposes. With regards to the extra room situation, we do our best to make sure all guests understand the policies and fees regarding the rooms prior to booking so that there will be no surprises as well as an explanation while finalizing the details. Not all groups are large and they appreciate the option to start with the base number of rooms and bathrooms and then be able to add whatever is necessary to accommodate their group sizes and needs. The house is over 4,000 sf and cleaning it is extensive, especially in this age of Covid and the need to not only clean but disinfect accordingly. In order to keep the cleaning cost down for our guests, we are specific about check out instructions but don't feel that anything unreasonable is being asked of our guests. Again, we appreciate all the feedback! It really does help for us to do better as well as giving us the opportunity to explain things in more detail. Great Location for Five Couples
We chose this property because of it's closeness to the Boise area and it's many rooms. Overall it was wonderful. All of the members of our group commented on how much they liked the house. The game room was a big hit and we enjoyed hanging out on the back deck.

Summer in Marsing
This house is amazing. Plenty of room for the family and the house was very well kept up. The game room was a great hit with the kids. The outdoor space was very large and the view of the river and surrounding area was stunning, especially in the mornings to view the sunrise. The only draw back was the close proximity to the neighbor who chose the use his weed-wacker and lawnmower right next to us while we were outside enjoying the deck. Aside from that, our family had a wonderful time staying in this house and exploring this part of Idaho. Thank you!

Lovely location for a getaway
We stayed in Marsing for a mother/daughter weekend of wine and golf. We enjoyed beautiful golf courses in the mornings and wineries in the afternoon. The house is in a perfect location for both! The house was spotless clean and super comfortable for a group. The sunrises in the mornings over the river are dreamy. We are already planning another visit! PS- Scoria and Bitner were our favorite vineyards of the trip!

Wonderful Stay
My husband and I, our children and their spouses and two grandchildren (2 1-2 year old and infant) had a wonderful stay at Margie and Tara’s home! It was so clean, well stocked with everything you need to be comfortable away from home including games for grown ups and toys and books for our grandchild. There was plenty of room for everyone to feel comfortable and relaxed, and the decor is a big factor for giving that relaxed feeling! The home is in such a peaceful setting with magnificent sunrise views and river sounds of birds and geese, an immaculate yard, and peaceful neighborhood. The location was perfect with easy access to Marsing and nearby Nampa for restaurants and stores. Margie was easy to communicate with, and the next time we need a place to stay in Marsing, this is definitely our first choice!

Wonderful home and trip!
My extended family and I had the pleasure of meeting up from various states and coming together in this beautiful home! We ended up having 13 people total and had plenty of space for everyone! The Home is amazingly appointed with everything you could need and more! You can tell that the owners take great pride in their home and it showed in all of the details! My family and I have discussed coming back during the summer months to enjoy with the outdoors had to offer as well. We were so thankful to have had the opportunity to all get together during the cold months. The owners of the home makes the rental process simple and easy! This is a definite YES for anyone wondering where to stay near Nampa or Boise area!

Great home for the holidays
This home was perfect for all of our family Christmas vacation and very roomy and comfortable. Equipped with everything we needed it was just out of the way a bit for shopping, fun and activities that is in the Boise area. It was a good 35-45 min drive in the snow. The water has a very strong sulfur smell as well but we enjoyed our stay there regardless. Would definitely recommend this home for the holidays or anytime for large families since there’s a little something for everyone there and plenty of room.

Beautiful House on the River
We overall had a great stay at this property. The game room was a huge plus and the river views were wonderful. Everything was kept nicely and well stocked for a longer stay. It is a great house for a large group. We had a few bumps in the road - like miscommunication about the extra rooms we paid for which were locked and codes not provided before arrival. But the owners resolved everything quickly. The garage was also locked so don’t expect to have access to that. We had to leave a lot of our outdoor stuff outside. But overall, I would definitely stay there again.

Breathtaking View
This house checked all the boxes. Close to wineries, clean, cozy and entertaining. While several adults were setting up winery for wedding, the young people had plenty to do. There was no boredom. Morning sunrises were spectacular! Owners answered my question prior to our arrival quickly. Would definitely stay there again, especially if we are attending an event in the Sunnysloop area. Thanks for helping make my daughter's wedding less painfully with a long drive back and forth. Until next time!!!

A Rural Stay
The house was absolutely beautiful and well maintained. This was the best stocked kitchen we’ve ever stayed in. Kids had fun fishing in the river and we enjoyed touring wineries and driving through all the beautiful orchards. Bought a box of the best tasting peaches and incredible sweet corn at local farm stand. The only problem was the barbecue is in need of a good cleaning so we only used it one time.

Base of Exploration
We were 6 ladies from the Willamette Valley coming to see a part of Oregon (Owyhee) that most of us had not seen. This lovely home was a wonderful, comfortable place to return to after our hiking or sightseeing. We had everything we needed at the house and a wonderful view as well. Fun to watch fish jump in the river. One of us saw beavers and there were quite a few Canadian geese on the river also. This is a nice, quiet neighborhood and Marsing is a pleasant little town. I don't know that you could find a nicer house closer to Leslie Gulch or Jordan Valley. So pleased to have this house to stay in.

Amazing!
We were in town for a baseball tournament and this house was perfect! It was super clean, decorated so beautifully, and kept the adults and teens entertained with the fishing, game room, and amazing views from the deck. I’ve also never seen a vrbo rental so fully stocked with everything we needed! I highly recommend this place for a relaxing getaway .

Awesome! So Much To Do!
Well designed beautiful home with dock on the Snake River all in the middle of wine tasting country. Great for small & large gatherings. Well-equipped Kitchen supports multiple dining scenarios, including relaxing patio deck, formal dining room & kitchenette. The younger crowd loved the huge game & TV room. Fishing, boating & paddle boarding easily accessible from the dock. We were gathered together as a family ranging from ages 8 - 92 and everyone had a blast!!

We stayed here for over a week with our 2 children. This home is AMAZING. The home has everything you could possibly need for your stay and more! 2 More Great Stays
We had 1 winter retreat here last year and now 2 this year. Tara and Margie are great to work with. The place was very clean and ready when we checked in early. And some welcome treats make it a nice touch. We are in and out a lot hunting, but it's perfect for a base camp where we eat together and have team meetings. We either meet in the spacious basement living area or in front of the fire. Thanks for 2 great retreats.

Beautiful Home on the River! Wish We Could Stay Longer!
We had a last minute trip to Idaho from Oregon for our son’s basketball tournament. We scrambled to find a house to fit our family of five as well as our friends who are a family of four. We were so lucky to find this beautiful home in Marsing right on the river. It was spotless and beautiful. The owners even left us a basket of snacks and drinks! It was such a sweet surprise. Our kids played downstairs on the pool table, foosball table and ping pong table almost the whole time we were there. The beds are so comfy and the bedding is soft and fluffy. We all slept so great! I wish we had time to stay and fish off the dock. Thank you so much for the amazing time I hope we can come back someday!

Horrible experience
This house is not worth the headache. We were charged max amount for “property damage” for toys that were left out and not sweeping or vacuuming. We were not given tools to complete these tasks and these are not damages. Also, we didn’t even know they had toys so not sure how we left them out. We paid a large cleaning deposit as well. The house is freezing cold on one side and hot on the other. The yard is littered in dog feces although the property claims no pets. The owners of this property are money hungry. They charge per room even though it claims 7 bedrooms. We contacted the owners after our stay and they were very rude and very unprofessional. We will never rent a property from them again. Do not rent this property.

It’s unfortunate these guests admittedly didn’t read the Welcome Book we provide (there are 8 in the house) which outlines house rules, check out instructions, where any necessary cleaning supplies are (vacuum and broom right next to ironing board in laundry room, which they used) as well as amenities offered in the home and area. Because they didn’t follow rules and left the home in complete disarray, they felt the need to leave a negative review. The reasons this guest was charged the damage deposit was not because toys were left out. The primary reasons were that none of the check out instructions were followed (stripping beds, placing bath towels and rugs in laundry baskets, basic stuff for a vacation rental). In addition the carpets which had just been professionally cleaned were left with several stains causing us to have the cleaners come back and spot clean. There were chips all over downstairs carpet, several items misplaced, bacon grease stains, sticky walls, I could go on. All of this comes at an additional cost to us, the owner. Also this guest left the back door wide open when they left. I asked about this and was told that yes they left the door open. This leaves the home exposed to elements as well as not securing the home upon vacating. With regards to dog feces, we do have neighbors with a dog who occasionally does jump the fence. We do our best to keep the lawn as clean as possible. Room inclusions and fees are completely outlined in our listing and was discussed and agreed to when the guest booked. There were no complaints or issues until we withheld the damage deposit after finding the home dirty and exposed. I have written correspondence between myself and the guest which clearly outlines their intent to write a bad review if I didn’t retract the damage deposit. Also I kept it professional and it was the guest who felt the need to call ME names. Our house is definitely not a good fit for an inexperienced vacation rental guest but in reviewing almost every single review prior to this one, you can see that our guests have great experiences in our home and with us.

Clean, open, and fun home with a nice view
We truly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home! The owners had the home nicely decorated for fall and its so well equipped! The home is so spacious and was perfect for our family. We enjoyed our stay in Idaho over Thanksgiving. The owners were so sweet and left us a token to remember our trip by with a cute pie ornament! We needed a large roasting pan to cook a prime rib and when I asked if the home happened to have one, the owner said no but that she’d like to have one in the home so she bought one and dropped it off! So accommodating! We had two families and grandma and grandpa staying in this home and it fit us all so well! The kids loved the game room that was well equipped with a pool table, air hockey, ping pong, and foosball. The adults enjoyed relaxing in the evenings while putting puzzles together that the owners had available. Also, enjoyed Netflix! It was nice to be right on the river and get a slice of nature! We explored the area by visiting a different town everyday.

Nice Property if you are going to stay inside the entire time
Neighborhood spotty, lack of “pride of ownership.” If ur planning 2 stay n or b back on the River, you’ll b fine! Home is clean 4 most part. 1 Kitchen drawer had quite a bit of crumbs, seeds, debris, most likely over-looked by HK. Instructions state guests r 2 remove “all” items from fridge b4 leaving, so, I was disappointed 2 find all 3 side compartments n fridge completely full of condiments- as well, the pantry was a MESS to say the least! It caused me more work than I needed w/having to box up things left behind & move them 2 the colder outdoors & then put them back b4 leaving. Owner had no clue/instructions 4 guests on how 2 use the TV when it came to streaming videos. This was a BIG item 4 us & I expressly made that clear b4 securing reservations. Eventually, we did get it set up. I did use Verizon w/ a hot spot, but still had interruptions, however, they were minor. I dealt with the issues I had on arriving and chose not 2 disturb owner, except 4 TV. After checkout, Owner charged a $250 Damage. I called immediately due 2 the comments left re; damage fee. She stated I had violated the no-pet policy & she had documentation of dog, with “RING” doorbell Video AND Audio that she watched people thru. She said she knew the dog was outside & inside. When I asked her 4 proof of that she said, “because there was hair on “a” bedspread, but a person wouldn’t b able 2 know what kind w/out a DNA test!” 😳 And, that there was small dog poop outside in her yard, per the HK & they Only have big dogs n the neighborhood. Her Ring would have definitely shown her the situation w/my dog went like this.... Husband followed me out 2 the house 2 unload my Escalade. He took r 10 lb Shih Tzu w/ Him in pick up & when I needed help w/the lock box he came from pickup 2 the lockbox, dog n arms. I took r dog from him & proceeded 2 take him 2 my car & put him n while my husband unloaded. Then r dog went from my car 2 Husbands pickup & home. Never once leaving our arms! He did not have a collar or leash that day and He NEVER entered the premises either! I expressed my dissatisfaction abt these charges, specifically abt the dog. We came 2 an agreement of $125, so she could “pet clean” the home 2 her satisfaction, due 2 “how the situation “looked” 2 her,” & also 2 replace a pillow, cover & case that a guest got sick on, from the FLU. That, I was happy 2 replace 100%, bc it needed 2 b thrown out @ that point. Overall, we had a Nice Comfortable Stay w/ room 2 move about!

I don't feel the need to respond to your list of inaccurate comments. I do think we can agree that this home is not a good fit for you. We appreciate our guests who are honorable and respect our rules. Based on so many other reviews, there is consistency with the positive feedback from our other guests..

Beautiful Property, Great Owners
The property managers are so friendly and great to work with. They were extremely responsive with my questions and truly wanted us to have the best stay possible. The home is beautiful, clean, has a great view, and lots of toys for kids and adults to enjoy.

Large, clean, comfortable home with a great view!
Our extended family stayed here because our younger daughter got married near Nampa. We had 9 adults, and two toddlers in our group. Everyone had plenty of room and the kitchen was well stocked. Great view of the river, too!

Best Family Reunion
5 Star rating from beginning to end of everything we can rate. From the communication and response time of the owner to the amenities and details of the property, and everything in between was just perfect. This was a 13 person family reunion with ages 15-81. The river view retreat is our new favorite VRBO, and we're already looking forward to coming back. The game room was a lot of fun, the fishing was awesome, comfort of beds, convenience of supplies and views were all wonderful. The one neighbor we encountered while fishing was very polite and friendly. Local markets are well stocked and major stores were 12-20 minutes away. Neighborhood was nice, safe and quiet at night. We very much appreciated how clean the home was, smelled, and appeared when we walked in. Everything was in order, working, and especially the amazing treats as part of the welcome package. I can't stress enough how clean the bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchen, laundry room, games and everything else was. The welcome binder literally contained everything you need to know for the property and area. The property decor was great, obviously done by people that specialize in it :)
