Cheeky Cherry Cottage

Built in 1900, this historic cottage in Lakeside has been updated to be a 10/10! Our cottage sleeps 6 with a queen bed in the primary bedroom, adult-size train-style bunk beds, and a daybed with a trundle on the sleeping porch. Cheeky Cherry is complete with charm plus all the modern amenities to create tons of comfort, including central air, a new oven, dishwasher, microwave, washer/dryer, a gas and charcoal grills, a smart TV to stream your favorites, and high-speed internet with wifi. There is an eat-in kitchen that seats 3, dining room that seats 6 plus seating on the back deck.

There is ample parking across the street for multiple cars. To save on space, there are two mini fridges in the kitchen plus an ice maker. There is a full-size fridge with a freezer in the garage. Also in the garage are a few lawn games (corn hole and bocce ball).

We are located directly across from Cherry Park, complete with an authentic sailboat playground! Also, the Cheeky Cherry is only a few blocks from the main pool/tennis courts/fitness center. Your kids are safe to play all day in Lakeside and tell them to be back for dinner. It's a Rockwellian dream come true.

Lakeside is a hidden gem in northeast Ohio. It is a gated Chautauqua community encompassing mind, body, and spirit with a large range of daily programming and nightly entertainment in the 3,000 seat Hoover Auditorium. Be sure to check with www.Lakesideohio.com for pricing on gate fees and schedule of events. Note there are gate fees during the summer season, Memorial day through Labor day. NOTE: LINENS AND TOWELS ARE NOT INCLUDED, THIS IS COMMON FOR LAKESIDE COTTAGE RENTALS. You can rent linens and such at https://lakesidelinensupply.com/ or bring your own.

From Memorial Day to Labor Day rentals are only available in 7 day increments (which is common in Lakeside). Check-in is 4pm on Saturday and check-out is 11am Saturday. The Cheeky Cherry Cottage is also available beginning in early May until Memorial Day and after Labor Day until the end of November with a minimum 2 night stay. Please be advised that many of the shops close in the off season.

A 10% lodging tax is collected which is paid to Ottawa County (7%) and to the State of Ohio (3%).

The house amenities were great and perfect for our family getaway. We spent quality time at the parks, pier, walking in town, playing games, etc. I love that we could let our kids go to the park 'on their own' but still watch them from the porch. The kitchen and bathroom provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay!

Cute and clean

The cottage is in a great location in Lakeside, part of the Marblehead community. Being there in October felt like being in a different world. It was peaceful and quiet. We were within walking distance of a coffee shop and a few stores which were still open. The cottage is tastefully decorated and met all of our basic needs. The bathroom was small, but workable for a short weekend. Overall a good place to retreat for a weekend.

Cottage in lakeside

The cottage was very cute and clean. Our only complaint was that sheets and towels were not provided. We have stayed in Lakeside before and didn't have this issue. When I reviewed the listing, a notice about the lack of sheets and towels was there.. at the very end of the description of the cottage. It never occurred to me that a cottage would have NO amenities.. especially something as basic as sheets and towels! If your property is going to lack something this basic, it needs to be in bold at the beginning of the description. A trip to dollar general and having to purchase sheets and towels was not the highlight of our trip!

Cheeky Cherry won’t disappoint!!

We had a wonderful stay in the Lakeside Community and this cottage was perfect for as we two widowers were celebrating our 1st anniversary. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Clean and bright and cheery as described in the listing.

Your TV is smarter than me.

I was totally unfamiliar with your TV brand. So, no TV for us. It would have been helpful if some operations instructions were available. Of course, Lakeside is beautiful and I enjoyed myself anyway.

Cheery Cottage on Cherry Avenue

Cottage was clean and cute...perfect for the two of us. The location made it easy to get downtown or to the park by Lake Erie and even to the ferry to Kelley's Island. We rode our bikes everywhere--to shuffleboard, the ferry, the parks, miniature golf, breakfast at Ooh La La (restaurant), shopping, the dock and the donut shop! Lakeside is a quaint and lovely little community. We would return.

This Lakeside cottage is super cute, bright, and cheery. It was very clean and the kitchen was stocked with everything you could possibly need. The beds were comfy too! We loved the glassed in porch with the view of Cherry Park. We had a wonderful week there. It was really hot and humid the first part of the week and the AC was a blessing!
