The COVID-19 pandemic may have changed the way we travel, but it hasn't curbed our appetite for exploring. Here are some tips on how to cope with the new challenges of traveling:

• Research if any travel restrictions apply to your destination and origin before committing to a flight. Also check if there are any requirements you'll need to follow on arrival, such as testing and quarantining.
• Wear a face mask during airport screening. A TSA employee will require you to adjust your mask for ID purposes.
• You're no longer required to hand your boarding pass (electronic or paper) directly to a TSA employee. Rather, position your pass on the reader and then hold it up so the agent can inspect it.
• TSA is now permitting passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on bags. This will have to be removed from your bag for screening.
• To reduce handling during screening, place items such as your phone, coins and keys into your carry-on rather than the bins.
• If you're planning to take food on board, place it in a clear plastic bag and then into a screening bin. This reduces the likelihood that a TSA agent will need to touch your food container or carry-on bag for closer inspection.
