My partner and I celebrated our anniversary at this secluded lakefront cabin in Machias, ME, and it was nothing short of magical! This cozy, dog-friendly retreat was the perfect escape, blending rustic charm with modern comforts. The 250 feet of private lakefront on the undeveloped end of the lake offered breathtaking views, especially from the cabin’s deck where we sipped coffee each morning. The provided canoe was a highlight- the serene lake, soaking in the tranquility and spotting wildlife. The cabin itself is impeccably maintained, with a fully equipped kitchen that made cooking anniversary dinners a breeze. The fireplace added such a warm, romantic ambiance, and we loved that our pup could have joined us without any hassle. The loft with twin beds was perfect for extra guests, and the “ship’s ladder” added a fun, quirky touch. With 600 square feet, the space felt just right—cozy yet spacious enough for comfort. The location is ideal, just 7 miles from the ocean, and we enjoyed day trips to Bad Little Falls Park (only a 10-minute drive) and Roque Bluffs State Park, where the beach was stunning. Free parking made exploring easy, and having a washer and dryer was a game-changer for our week-long stay. Everything about this cabin screamed thoughtfulness, from the peaceful surroundings to the little details that made us feel right at home. We’re already planning our next visit—10/10, absolutely exceptional!
