"My friend and I were staying here on a trip viewing property to buy in the area. The nicest house we saw on the trip was the one we were staying in! It is every bit as good as it seems in the photos - especially the garden area. A great place to soak up the Portuguese sunshine. Jose, the owner was there to greet us and was very helpful. Although one probably does need a car to stay here although we did walk to Penela one day - 3.2 miles. - perfectly do-able."

"This was the most relaxing stay! We were deep in the countryside in our own stone village with great amenities and fresh bread, fruit, cheese, jam and honey for our kitchen every day. No restaurant on site or in walking distance but it was fun and challenging diving around exploring the region on back roads to get to the each town with its castle and church. "

Maar dan, paniek ...de locatie die aangegeven staat op de website klopt niet : het huis ligt niet in het centrum van Miranda maar in het aangrenzende PEREIRA. Het heeft ons heel wat tijd gekost om daar achter te komen. We worden vriendelijk ontvangen door de eigenaar en gastheer. "The house is a beautifully redone schist structure in the center of Talasnal. All the comforts of home; nicely stocked kitchen, great fireplace (heated the whole house), comfortable beds, and nice hot showers. Great hikes just walking out the front door…although we did get lost the first day. Haha. Both Joao and Alda were super responsive and so helpful. Even offering to pick us up in Candal after our very long misplaced hike. Definitely purchase any supplies before arriving as the tiny Mercado...

"Awesome location. We cannot say enough wonderful things about Ricardo and Andre. From helping us to and from our rooms to booking our taxi. Then there was a festival this morning with the street closed, so Andre re-routed the taxi and escorted us to the new meeting place. Above and beyond the call of duty!! Thank you!"

"Hotel is in a great location. Sites to see, plenty of dining options all within walking distance. We visited Coimbra as a one day stop, on our drive from Porto on the way to Lisbon, and we were able to see all the important sites, as well as sample the good restaurants for lunch and dinner. The person at the reception, Andre, helped us with directions from hotel and recommendations on nearby great restaurants. Parking across the hotel was very convenient, albeit a little tight in space. All in all, a great stay for us."

"Outstanding historical property located on a high elevation with exceptional views. The staff went above & beyond to make our stay perfect. The restaurant on site serves delicious food. They have a full bar & massive historic lounge area. The sunsets were amazing & the extra deep & long bathtub was a joy after a long day. The furniture is antique & isn’t meant for people that like Marriott style rooms. "
