Great location!

Great little hotel for a weekend getaway. Located across the street from the beach. Very close to all the popular dining restaurants. As warned it is on PCH so you will hear the cars driving by. But that goes for any hotel on PCH. Would recommend for a little getaway.

I don't know why this place gets a bad wrap. You're obviously not staying in in a 5 star hotel, but this place was clean and safe. 10/10 would go again.

The room was fine, fairly quiet and clean. It is a bit challenging for people with mobility issues: our room was on the top floor and there's no elevator, so we had to park near the stairs. It's also tricky to get in and out by car, since it's right on the Pacific Coast Highway. However, it has nice views of the coast and hills, especially from the hilltop lounge behind the building.

Old run down. Grounds needed major fixing. No elevator for carrying luggage up steep cement stairs. Just a major disappointment for an expensive night.

The noise level was so bad they provided ear plugs in the room. There is no public beach access. This is not a walking area. The room was clean. Bed only ok.

Modest but simple, classic, comfortable, clean and (relatively affordable) beach and ocean facing motel with plenty of parking which is in scant supply elsewhere on this strip. Malibu Pier, beaches and park within walking distance.

The M is a true beach motel. It is on the inland side of Pacific Coast Hwy - with a number of restaurants within walking distance about a mile each way). The bathroom was clean and the room was comfortable.

Short Walk from Surfrider Beach

Stayed here for my surfing trip to Surfrider Beach, about a 20 minute walk but much more affordable than the closer options. A comfortable place to stay with helpful staff. Would stay here again and recommend.

Easy walk to Dreamland — a must visit — the beach and Malibu Pier. Great restaurant options. Sorta hidden, rustic upper patio great for viewing the ocean early morning wildlife and the sunset. Porpoise pods and diving pelicans!
