The unit itself is incredibly nice. Clean, large bathroom, small dining table and overall ample space for 2 people. The location is amazing — felt safe walking back at night, walking distance to a lot of food options and even a target. Would definitely rent again!
This is a very clean, quiet, and functional studio apartment in a prime location with all the amenities for an extended stay including washer/dryer. The best perk for me was secure underground self-parking spot with unlimited in-out via remote controlled gate. Communication with the host was prompt and check-in access was simple and well-described. A 3-minute walk to the pier and half a block to the E light rail line. Trader Joes and Target 2 blocks away. There are homeless people around the city in general but never felt unsafe. The unit does not appear to have A/C which is typical for an apartment near the shore.
I really enjoyed the proximity to shopping and restaurants. It felt like a safe building with lots of young professionals in it. It had a nice study area where I could work remotely. It also had air conditioning so was very comfortable even on the hot days. I loved being locked in to the courtyard and the parking garage immediately so I could take my time getting up to the apartment and I felt very safe. The location is right next to buses and Metro and four short blocks to the beach/pier.
Studio was small, but adequate for our needs. It was nice and clean. There was a strong scent of cleaning products both within the unit and in the hallways. The scent within the unit dissipated after opening the door and windows. Bed was comfy. Location was a handy 15-17 minute drive to both Getty Villa and Museum, which was the reason for the visit. The procedure for getting keys was complicated, but well explained with step-by-step photo instructions provided by host John. Secure, garage parking was much appreciated. Couch was nice looking, but not comfortable.
The apartment is great, super comfortable, clean, and well appointed. The host was super communicative and accommodating, and check in and out were a breeze. The location is so close to the boardwalk with easy access to whatever you’d need but …. the building just happens to be next door to a resource center for unhoused individuals, so the area around the building is home to several individuals, which to be honest doesn’t usually bother me, but I did not have any reception at all in the garage or lobby of the building, which made me feel a tad uneasy. In front of the building is pretty busy with a bus stop, so that is not a problem. I just felt a little uneasy in the more isolated areas (lobby and garage) when I was coming and going. There are multiple layers of security in the building (buzz into the court yard, buzz into the lobby, buzz to use the elevator etc.), but I figured I would give women a heads up in case, like me, they plan to stay alone with a car. Happy traveling and thanks for a great stay!
