"We stayed with a friend and her 4 year old - the folks running the farm were super friendly, and the 4 yo is still talking about how she misses Ben & Bob (the farm Collies). The cottage is on a working farm, and has been nicely restored, though it's clearly an old building, and I must have banged my head *every* time I went to load the fire in the kitchen! "The cottage was part of a large former hotel and it has been converted very sympathetically. The rooms are large, clean, and comfortable - we had a lot of space for the two of us (and the dog!) One of my favourite things was the picture window in the lounge, with beautiful views across the countryside down to the lake. The beds were very comfortable and the area was quiet. We did have a couple of issues with the boiler going off and the kettle not working but these were dealt with quickly....
