"Check-in person was very nice and helpful. We were given an upstairs room as requested. It was very large but unfinished. There was no place to hang our clothes. There was no light over the bathroom sink. There was no light by the corner chair (not possible to read there at night). One change from the last time I was at the hotel : there is a mattress cover. Not a positive change since it makes crunchy noises. Also, since they are updating the hotel, I suggest they attach large bottles of shampoo and conditioner to the tub wall. They should upgrade to be more sustainable and environmentally conscious. The small bottles of shampoo and conditioner add too much plastic to landfill."

"We had a great stay in Balsam Lake while we were in town for a wedding. The place was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. It was a great spot to come back to after a busy weekend, and we really enjoyed our stay. We would definitely stay here again!"

Cabin w/ Dock & Porch Across from Balsam Lake

"We were a family of twelve that included all age ranges. Large kitchen was easy to get around in and had large amount of counter space. Bedrooms were spaced out enough that kids did not interfere with adults. The three bathrooms were very clean and roomy with minimal congestion. Linens were well stocked. On site washer and dryer were much appreciated. The covered front porch became a welcome gathering place for everyone and was utilized every day. Front yard was perfect for yard games. The backyard fire pit really hit the spot for s'mores. Access to the lake posed no problem and the water was crystal clear. We were able to catch several Northern from the rented pontoon boat. The teenage girls brought their own paddle boards which they enjoyed paddling around in the lagoon. Balsam Lake is a quaint cozy town with several unique shops. It would be advantageous to the guests to have their open and close times in your welcoming information. Several trips were made to town, only to find the businesses where not open yet. We all agreed, this is one of the best places we have ever stayed. and we will probably be back."

"We booked this lake house for a quick getaway before school starts, and honestly chose it simply because of the location and availability—but we’re so glad we did!We absolutely loved our time here and all agreed that next time we’ll need to stay longer. The kayaks were a huge hit, and the kids spent every minute they could fishing off the dock. It was such a relaxing place to spend some quality time together and enjoy the lake.We did have a small issue connecting to the Internet for tv (Hulu continued to have issues) but this weekend was ment to be spent off screens so it wasn’t truly an issue to do with our rating or experience. Our only main concern during our stay was the stove. It didn’t ignite very well, and while trying to get it started there was enough of a gas smell that we opened the doors to air things out. We ended up having to light it ourselves with a lighter/match, which made me a little nervous. Hopefully that was just something we struggled with as we all have electric stoves at home. Other than that, we had a wonderful stay and made some great memories. We would definitely come back—and next time, for more than just a quick weekend!"
