"Snishival is such a fabulous place. Gorgeous views from every room and a prime position on the top of a small hill. Feels perfectly isolated but supremely comfortable. Kitchen is very well equipped and the warm utility room was most useful for drying off wet clothes. And if you like dark skies, and lucky enough to get a clear night, and are there during the Orionid meteor showers, you are in for a spectacle! 10 minute walk across the machair to the fabulous beach. Superb. Mid South Uist location is perfect for exploring down to Barra / Vatersay, as well as up to North Uist. And great for otter spotting at the old pier at Loch Skipport. Julia (host) was very responsive when we had to change our ferry crossing and timings. Superb overall."

"Very much enjoyed our 3 generations stay at Altabrug. Have visited family in South Uist for many years but never ventured down the Stoneybridge road. Bikes hired from Lochboisdale and delivered to the door helped us explore the area during some lovely weather. The cottage had large windows throughout which allowed us to enjoy the views and the wildlife. Our wee dog enjoyed the freedom around the cottage and loch."
