About this property

The Magnolia | Luxury, Comfort, and Lake Life – All in One Stunning Escape

  • The Magnolia at Lake Gaston is the very definition of lakefront perfection, offering panoramic mile-long views and unforgettable moments from sunrise to sunset.

This spacious retreat features a central gathering area ideal for dining, lounging, watching TV, playing games, or sneaking in a well-deserved nap. With stunning water views from both levels, two screened porches, and three of the home's generously sized suites, you're always just a glance away from the lake.

Start your mornings on the Sunrise Porch, coffee in hand as the world wakes up around you. Come evening, pour a glass of Chardonnay and settle into the Sunset Porch to watch the last golden rays dip below the horizon. Both porches are conveniently located off the kitchen and main dining area—perfect for serving snacks, drinks, or just stepping out for a breath of fresh lake air.
The lower level is all about fun and reconnection. Challenge your crew to a game of pool or ping pong, dive into a board game, or cozy up at the card table and courtesy bar. When it's time to unwind, gather in the private theatre room to relive the day's adventures on a massive 90-inch high-definition screen.

Down at the dock, the real magic continues. Swim, fish, kayak, or simply relax and soak in the endless water views. The water is deep—ideal for jumping in, tubing, or wakeboarding with confidence.

Located in an upscale neighborhood, The Magnolia is just minutes from Lake Gaston's local winery, a beautiful golf course, and the always-popular Shady Shack lakeside restaurant.

All linens are high-quality and professionally laundered for your comfort. Each linen package includes fresh towels, carefully prepared and sealed for your peace of mind.

To top it off, The Magnolia concierge team is on hand to make your stay seamless and stress-free—from stocking your fridge with local favorites to arranging tee times or winery tastings, and even signing the kids up for wakeboard school. We're here to help you create a truly exceptional Lake Gaston getaway.

The Magnolia is located on the Main Lake at Mile Marker 17 and provides the perfect setting for memories that will last a lifetime. Conveniently located just a few miles from Interstate 85, the property is approximately 1 hour away from both Raleigh and Richmond, making it easily accessible for guests traveling from these major cities. If you'd like to explore the surrounding area, the award-winning Rosemont Winery, Shady Shack Bar and Grill, and Tanglewood Shores Golf Club's 9-hole golf course are all just a few miles down the road. The town of South Hill is just 20 minutes away and offers convenient stores including Wal-Mart, Food Lion, CVS Pharmacy, Starbucks and several restaurants.

    A few more tid-bits... :)

    1. Trained service animals are welcome! Otherwise, we have a strict "no pets" policy. We can help arrange lodging for your pets at a local boarding facility during your stay. Please let us know well in advance, as they fill up fast.

    2. The house, like 99% of all lake homes on Lake Gaston, uses a septic system. This system is a finely balanced biological system. Please help us keep it working flawlessly by flushing ONLY toilet paper. Renters are responsible for any damage caused by misuse.

    3. Bow-Riders and deep draft Wake Board boats need to check their Hummingbirds to ensure adequate depth in all coves. Pontoons should have no issues and everyone is welcome to tie off at the dock with rental boats. Please make sure to bring your bumpers!.

    4. Culverts & Bridges: Be sure to lower your Bimini top when going under bridges or through culverts. Appearances can be deceiving, and the water levels can flucuate daily!

    5. Life Jackets: While a variety of life jackets are provided, they are not guaranteed in every size. Please bring life jackets specific to individual needs.

Magnolia magic

We were 13 people staying together. The house was very spacious with lots of amenities. We had an issue with the lights that was quickly fixed. The management company was very responsive. I would definitely stay in this property again

Beautiful Home

This home is lovely and presents even nicer than pictured in the photos. The lake front view is breathtaking and visible from most of the bedrooms, the family room, the dining room, the games room, and the outside seating areas. The owner was very responsive to any additional questions that we had.

Memorial Day Weekend 2023

We enjoyed the weekend despite the weather not cooperating. It was fun to use the outdoor gas-fireplace located inside the screened porch. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. Beautifully appointed house and great spot on the lake. We enjoyed our lunch with live music at nearby Shady Shack as well!

Absolutely beautiful home was well appointed with gorgeous lake views and dynamic sunsets. It very comfortably took care of our family of 9 (Our 2 daughters, their spouses and 3 grandchildren, ages 16, 16 & 18.) With 5 ensuite king bedrooms and a 6th bedroom off the downstairs recreation room there was always plenty of space to spread out or all join together, whether we were in the movie room, great room, dining room or just lounging on the 2nd level deck. Lake Gaston was warm, clean and never felt crowded (and we were on the water every day with jet skis, deck boat, skiing, wake boarding and often just floating off the dock) Shopping and dining very close by. I would especially recommend the 313 Franklin Cocktails & Kitchen, about 20mins awayAnd cant say enough good things about our concierge, Lester!!!! He definitely went above and beyond and was always available to assist with questions, suggestions, unanticipated issues and recommendations! Can honestly say HE was the most helpful and accommodating person we have ever dealt with in our many years of traveling. Would definitely revisit the Magnolia another time and a special Thank you to you, Lester!!!!

Lovely perfect vacation! One piece of feedback - too many different phone numbers given . Once I texted the right person , response was immediate but seemed like I was given several different numbers and not all of them responded when texts were sent . One point of contact would be easier
