Peace, quiet, seclusion and the crystal-clear Frio River make this magical place one of the most sought-after rentals in the hill country. Century old oaks provide a shady area to barbecue, enjoy a campfire or just relax. The spacious front porch is perfect for sipping coffee in the morning or enjoying a fireside glass of wine in the evening. There's an electric fireplace in the living area as well.
Just one mile from our two river accesses, you have full access to either of the following areas:
Shallow Rocky Bank: This spot is perfect for relaxing by the cold Frio River. Imagine sitting in chairs, under canopies, listening to music, and enjoying the tranquil surroundings. It’s also great for families with little ones. This river bank is located at the Original 6 Cabins property, just one mile from the ranch.
Deep Swimming Hole: If you’re up for more adventure, head to the deep swimming hole. The water levels range from 3 to 12 feet, making it ideal for tubing, kayaking, or simply floating and chilling. This part of the Frio River is located at the River Terrace Cabins property, just one ile from the ranch.
Astronomy enthusiasts travel from all over the U.S. to star gaze at the ranch's pristine night sky. The sky is spectacularly lite with the best view of stars you'll find anywhere.
Bird watching at the ranch is exceptional. Every year bird lovers travel to the ranch to spot some of the most rare breeds including the golden cheeked warbler and the black capped vireo.
Take a walk on our primitive nature trails where abundant wildlife can be seen or stroll down to the open field and watch the fireflies come out at night. Hundreds of deer, turkey and many other species of wildlife can be seen throughout the day from the front porch. Cabin 7 shares this property with one other cabin that is on the other side of the property. The river access at either of the two spots we own is private to Frio River Cabins guests only.
