The Neighborhood:
The Miner’s Getaway is located in the heart of historic Lead, a charming mountain town nestled in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Just a short walk from Main Street, you’ll find local restaurants, shops, and rich mining history around every corner.
Lead is the perfect base for exploring nearby Deadwood, Terry Peak Ski Area, and miles of hiking, biking, and ATV trails. Whether you’re here for outdoor adventure, local events, or a quiet mountain escape, this location offers the best of both convenience and small-town charm.
Getting Around:
Getting around Lead is easy from this location. The home is just a short walk to Main Street, where you’ll find restaurants, bars, shops, and a 24-hour Common Cents gas station for quick essentials.
For exploring beyond Lead, Deadwood is only about 3 miles away, and Terry Peak Ski Area is just a short drive up the hill. Having a vehicle is recommended for visiting surrounding areas, especially in the winter months, but you can enjoy many local spots on foot right from the property.
Other Things to Note:
Lead is a beautiful mountain town with steep streets and changing weather conditions, especially in the winter. During snowy or icy conditions, we strongly recommend a vehicle with good traction or 4WD.
Please note that the driveway entrance is located on a hill, which can become slippery in winter months. Taking it slow and using appropriate vehicles will help ensure a smooth arrival and stay.
Interaction with Guests:
We respect your privacy and want you to enjoy a relaxed, uninterrupted stay. The home is set up for easy self check-in, so you can arrive on your own schedule.
That said, we’re always available if you need anything during your stay. Feel free to reach out through the app with any questions, and we’re happy to help or provide local recommendations.
