Former wine merchant's house, swimming pool, lovely view

Comfortable home in peaceful village five minutes from medieval market town.
La Paillotte provides a relaxing and comfortable home-from-home, with a private garden and a large swimming pool with exceptional views.

The house has a private courtyard and is a comfortable, fully equipped, child-friendly home. The large wooden terrace for outdoor dining overlooks the pool and the Brenne valley. This is a perfect base from which to explore Burgundy or other nearby areas. Free WiFi internet and excellent mobile phone reception enable you to stay in touch with the outside world.

Across the courtyard is La Petite Paillotte, which also sleeps 6 people and may be rented together with La Paillotte. But if you rent only La Paillotte the other house will not be let at the same time, so you have exclusive use of the pool and garden.

Wonderful property - great for families

We have just packed up after a wonderful stay in this beautiful house. It was perfect for our needs, as grandad was able to stay on the ground floor, while the rest of the family had the upper floor. Well equipped kitchen, extremely comfortable beds and a view that our camera’s will never do justice to! Happy holiday-was all round…!

Beautiful house with everything we needed only 5 hours from Caen and with a beautiful view over the valley. Very prompt responses from George the property manager. We had a lovely holiday visiting nearby villages and sites of interest and would recommend this house and location in such a lovely part of Burgundy.

Charming holday home

La Palliote is a chaming, comfortable holday home. Beautifull terras with spectacular views on the country side. Great swimming pool with comfotable deck chairs. The house is well equipped and , very importantly, the beds are very comfortable. The house is located in a small, quiet village se in the beautifull burgundy country side. Easy access to all sightseeing sites.

A wonderful stay

A fantastic house in the most sublime setting with views of the Burgundy countryside from the raised deck. George, the manager was helpful when we asked about an event in the nearby town and George’s wife was also when we had a minor medical issue. Everything we needed in the kitchen was provided - and we made a range of meals for 6 every day for a week! The beds were comfortable and the showers worked fine, even the internet was good and we had 4 IT dependent under 25’s with us! All in all a wonderful place to stay.

Grands espaces, bonne literie, mobilier et nombreuses vaisselles d’aspect vieillot, belle vue sur la terasse et piscine agréable. Les salles de bain sont très minimalistes et le ménage pourrait être amélioré (toile d’araignées partout) parking sécurisé, village très calme proche de nombreuses visites intéressantes.

Notre séjour à La Paillotte a été très réussi sur tous les plans. La maison est fonctionnelle et conviviale tout en permettant que chacun trouve son propre espace. Même une personne âgée peut s'y sentir très bien. Elle permet de faire de tres belles découvertes culturelles à proximité de Lantilly. Nous avons beaucoup aimé, beaucoup lu et beaucoup cuisiné en toute tranquilité et souhaitons revenir dans la région!.

Nous avons passé deux semaines parfaites et ce malgré le mauvais temps. La maison est spacieuse et très agréable située dans un petit village très tranquille. La vue de la terrasse et de la piscine est à couper le souffle. Il y a tant à voir autour !! Merci George !

Prachtige omgeving in de buurt van het Canal de Bourgogne. Geen winkels of bakker in de buurt. Prima zwembad, wel wat smal omdat de bodem aan de zijkanten hoog is. Tuinset zwaar gietijzer, niet erg comfortabel. Wel heerlijke ligbedden bij t zwembad. Rare lucht in de beneden slaapkamer. Inrichting erg gedateerd. Apparatuur keuken prima. 1 bed boven met flinke kuil. Verder goede bedden. Overal kleedjes, waar wij niet zo van houden qua hygiëne.

Precies wat we zochten

Zeer goede en duidelijke instructies. Alles zoals omschreven in de aankondiging. Gastheer reageert onmiddellijk. Goed ingerichte woning met al het nodige aanwezig. Zwembad goed omheind en poortje met kinderslot. Tuin goed omheind voor hond. Ons favoriete plekje: het ruime terras achteraan met fantastisch vergezicht.

Perfekte Location!

Wir haben eine Woche in diesem liebevoll eingerichteten Haus verbracht. Die Ausstattung, insbesondere, wenn man gerne kocht, ist hervorragend. Alle Zimmer sind sehr sauber und großzügig. Auch sind die Betten sehr bequem und nicht durchgelegen. Der hundesicher eingezäunte Garten und Poolbereich ist ebenfalls sehr gepflegt und lädt zum entspannen ein. Eine absolut empfehlenswerte Unterkunft!!!

wie schon vor 2 Jahren haben wir (zwei Ehepaare mit zwei Hunden) den Aufenhalt in La Paillotte genossen - und diesmal hat sogar das Wetter mitgespielt. Es gibt nichts auszusetzen, alles bestens! George ist ein perfekter Gastgeber (and many thanks to Peter....!) Wir kommen sicher wieder!

Great Place in a great location

We had a very enjoyable week staying at this property. The property was well equipped and comfortable. It was in a quiet village location, near to some good places to visit. It got a little hot upstairs with the mini heatwave we experienced but fans were provided, so we managed. We would recommend it.

Super Haus

Das Haus bzw. beide Häuser haben gehalten, was das Inserat versprochen hat. Schöne, geschmackvolle und komfortable Einrichtung. Alles hat funktioniert - was in Frankreich nicht immer der Fall ist... :-) Platz genug für 3 Paare (wenn man das 2. Haus mitgemietet hat). Auch der Verwalter George ist top. Sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.

Sehr schöne Lage

Das Haus ist sehr geräumig und gut ausgestattet. Bemerkenswert sind Küche, Esszimmer, Terrasse und Pool. Die Aussicht ist einmalig. Es ist sehr ruhig. Abends kommt ein Fuchs zu Besuch.

Cette maison est agréable et bien entretenue. L’équipement est pertinent et la piscine sympathique. La vue sur la terrasse est appréciable. Le réseau wifi est moyen mais gérable. Petits écrans tv. Great Week In Burgundy

We really enjoyed the house a lot, very spacious, the kitchen had everything we could possibily need and we enjoyed our meals on a fantastic Terrasse with a fantastic view. The July-weather was not that hot but we could still use the pool and enjoyed it. We would love to come back together with friends and rent both houses!

Super séjour destressant !

La Paillote est une superbe propriété, avec un grand espace de vie où il fait bon vivre, les chambres sont grandes et très confortables, les salles de bain sont top, et vous avez en plus une belle terrasse pour déjeuner à l'extérieur. Le cadre est tout simplement magnifique avec une très belle vue sur les environs. Et en bémol une belle piscine pour se baigner. Notre'hôte Georges est d'une grande gentillesse, très courtois et toujours à votre écoute si vous avez un soucis. Bref un très bel endroit pour passer des vacances au calme dans un beau petit village pittoresque.

Durant une semaine d'hiver plutôt froide, avec la contrainte du couvre-feu et en l'absence, Covid oblige, de cafés et restaurants alentour, nous avons passé de vraies bonnes vacances reposantes, à 6, dans cette maison vaste et confortable (les lits, notamment, sont parmi les meilleurs que nous ayions jamais testés), avec sa cuisine toute équipée pour gourmets, une cheminée dont nous avons bien profité... Merci à nos hôtes pour leur accueil généreux.

Private gem in the middle of the Bourgogne

This beautiful maison offers tranquility, comfort and stunning views with lots of fun short trips within a 20 minute drive. The maison has been beautifully renovated, offering comfort without losing it's French rural charm. We stayed in the house with 5 persons and it felt very spacious! The pool was such a treasure for us during two weeks of sun, and the view from the pool and terrace is beautiful. Getting into the house was very easy by accessing the keysafe. A few days prior to arrival George sent us a very helpful guide, offering lots of tips and tricks about the house and the (local) area. We were lucky enough to meet George in person (socially distanced of course) and the contact we had face-to-face and via phone was very pleasant. The house offers all the necessary facilities and shops are a short drive away in several directions. Same goes for restaurants. We definitely will visit again!
