The property is very old. The doors and windows have lots of open crevices so bugs can easily come inside. There were tons of spiders actively around the home along with crazy looking centipedes. Nothing poisonous which was good. The back door doesn’t align to the lock so it has to be lifted up so that you can lock the dead bolt. The view is fantastic. I enjoyed the large window door in the mornings to look out at the lake but that was probably the best part. No cooking vent and the windows don’t open so you’d have to open the doors to ventilate. One of the AC units made a very loud noise 24/7. We couldn’t get the hot water to work. I didn’t mind but my child didn’t like taking cold showers. The people at the check in place were never there. A sign was up saying they were out of office. We were looking forward to using their pool since we’ve been to Shasta many times and have seen people in the pool while eating at the restaurant and enjoying karaoke nights back in 2019, but sadly this time there was a sign saying it was closed due to being broken. We were never told and other guests expressed their anger over that fact as well. I’d say it wasn’t worth the price to stay there. I could have stayed at the camp site next to it for $30 a night and had a lake view. Unfortunately Next time I’m sure we will do that. Unless they really put an effort into improving this place. Over $600 for AC usage basically.
