Beautiful view of whiteface mountain and across the lake. Great access to the village. Host was wonderful at answering questions and making it easy for check-in. Very spacious interior.
Great location & pleasant walk to town & restaurants. The condo was comfortable & nicely furnished with lots of Lake Placid memorabilia! Our family was also able to enjoy kayaking & paddleboarding just steps away, Owner was super responsive to all our questions.
Charming condo with great views and a convenient location
The condo is decorated with all things Olympic which was fun to explore. The view is exceptional and the owners are very friendly. We rented this unit 10 years ago and are so happy it is available again
We had plenty of room to relax with our family of six after a busy Christmas season. We loved being so close to town and luckily, Lake Placid offered lots of rainy day activities for when we were tired of reading, board games and playing guitar! Would love to come back.
The condo has a beautiful view and is walkable to downtown. Mirror Lake is closer than the photos indicate and we loved the hike around it. We enjoyed our stay and slept fine. The decor is filled with past Olympic memorabilia. The furnishings are very old and the linens do need to be updated.
The condo was immaculately clean! It had everything that anyone could ask for in a home away from home! We enjoyed soaking in the jacuzzi upstairs in the bedroom, sitting on the nice patio watching the boats go out on the water, & burning the beautiful fireplace (need to supply your own wood). The mattress in the master was not very comfortable but the queen mattress in 2nd bedroom downstairs was ok & the 2 twin beds upstairs were fine. The sofa & chairs in the living room weren't very comfortable either, but there were plenty of pillows to use for padding in them. We brought our own small travel Keurig & coffee pods with us. We had trouble trying to get the key box open on the front door which held the front door keys, because the numbers on the lock are very very small & don't show up after dark even with our flashlight. We didn't arrive there until 10pm since we had a 4 hour flight from Dallas to Montréal & then had a 3 hour drive from the airport to Lake Placid. Overall, we were very happy with the place. One more thing that wasn't mentioned anyplace in any of the house instructions is that if you want any hot water for the jacuzzi, there is a switch inside a locked storage closet outside the front door which can be unlocked with the front door key, that has a switch on the wall next to the breaker box that must be flipped on to heat up the water.
We loved the location. Close enough to the busy main strip to walk, but far enough away to get away. The view of the lake is fantastic. The home has been rented for decades so Diane knows what she is doing! It's an older condo but was very clean and we loved the unique olympics theme. We would not hesitate to stay there again!
A clearly well-loved Lake Placid condo filled with decades of Olympic memorabilia. Cozy, casual, and very comfortable. There were ceiling fans but no A/C so rooms can be a bit hot on hot days. Overall a quiet, centrally located condo with the most amazing views to enjoy with your morning coffee!
This condo was perfect for our family of 6 as we were in Lake Placid for a week of family wedding festivities and family visit. Our accommodations were spotless and very complete. Our hosts provided for all our needs, from a very ample supply of books and games to a very well stocked kitchen and fans for all rooms. They even left us a very thoughtful “Welcome” gift. Furnishings were very “Adirondack Comfortable”. We enjoyed having our morning coffee on our deck overlooking the lake with a view of Whiteface Mt. For our “walkers”, they enjoyed the ease of daily walks around Mirror Lake, and the proximity of paddle boarding. I enjoyed the easy walk to and from Main Street for shopping. It was a very special week of togetherness for all our family, and I would highly recommend Condo #24 and our thoughtful hosts.
Excellent choice for a family to enjoy a winter vacation in Lake Placid. Location was very convenient to any and all winter activities in the Lake Placid area and Whiteface. Condo was large, two level, with plenty of space, well furnished kitchen, lots of books and games available, fantastic views on clear days.
We spent the Christmas weekend in this lovely condo. Beautiful views, close to downtown, very spacious and clean. Cooked Christmas turkey and opened gifts with the fireplace crackling. A summer stay would be nicer weather-wise, but fun can be had anytime of year in this spot.
Our host went beyond the call of her duties. I had many questions, and we lost a couple of items, which her cleaning lady found after searching twice for us. Every time I wrote, my answer came within a matter of minutes. Great service.
Highly recommended.
Thank you so much.
The photo in the listing is the view from the balcony and we never got tired of it. The host emailed me a few times and was very helpful.
This is a spacious 4 BR condo with a ski cabin vibe but great for a summer stay also. About a 10 minute walk to Main St. My son took advantage of the small swimming area near the marina even though the water was cold at the end of June. The water in nearby Mirror Lake is warmer and there's a public beach there but we didn't make it there. A nice 1-hour lake tour leaves from the marina and we also enjoyed sitting at the end of the dock and taking in the view. We took advantage of great hiking (the Mt Marcy trail was beautiful), drove to the top of Whiteface for some spectacular views and visited some of the olympic facilities. The one complaint was that there's no AC. Probably not usually a problem but we had a couple of unusually hot nights and the 2 bedrooms on the top floor were pretty hot.
We visited Lake Placid for the first time this week and we had a great time. The location of this condo is perfect — we rarely had to drive anywhere because so much was walkable — shopping, dining, etc. We were a bit disappointed that so much of the shopping & dining area was under heavy road construction — it was dusty and loud and we couldn’t always get by, but it didn’t keep us from having a great time. Communication with Diane was so easy, she answered every question quickly and offered excellent suggestions for places to visit. We hope to visit again!
