Hotel Pico Velasco is a magical space nestled between nearby Santander. This 17th-century palace, once the residence of the Marqués Velasco, was painstakingly rebuilt and transformed into a boutique hotel.
The perfect blend of history, elegance, and natural beauty makes Hotel Pico Velasco a true gem. Its proximity to Santander provides easy access to the city, while its serene surroundings ensure a peaceful retreat.
A highlight of our stay was the exceptional culinary experience offered by the hotel's Michelin-starred chef. Please note that this exclusive experience is available by reservation only, so be sure to book in advance.
I'm not sure why Hotel Pico Velasco is rated only 3 stars, perhaps due to the lack of a spa or concierge service. However, in my opinion, it deserves a much higher rating. The hotel's charm, character, and exceptional service make it a truly fantastic choice.
I highly recommend Hotel Pico Velasco to anyone seeking a unique and unforgettable experience. Don't let the 3-star rating fool you – this hotel is a hidden gem!

"Las Arenas proved to be the ideal location for us to explore Picos de Europa National Park. This hotel is also great for leaving the car parked and walking into the village for an evening meal and a drink at the end of the day.
