The thing about this place - very very basic and even below that if don’t mind ! Decent breakfast and very nice ladies helping there. Big advantage is the location and proximity to restaurants and restaurants and everything close by! Other than that do not except anything form the rooms- oh yes and there is housekeeping everyday so that’s nice! I mean I just wish the rooms smelled better and the bathroom showers works ! We checked out early because of this! I will not stay here again! It’s perhaps for the solo traveler or college kids ! Not likely for families !

I totally love this place. I had a private room with bathroom, and it contained everything I needed - safe, fridge, desk, and a really comfy bed. Breakfast was great, staff were amazing, friendly, helpful and fun. I found that it's the sort of place where you can be really sociable if you want that, but also just sit quietly and be alone. There are hundreds of places to stay in La Fortuna, but when I return next year, I'll be booking La Choza again. The value for money is fantastic.

We chose Hotel La Choza Inn primarily for its location, and it absolutely delivered. It’s very close to downtown La Fortuna, with shops, restaurants, and sodas all within easy walking distance. One of our favorites, Soda Nima, was just around the corner. If you want to be in the heart of town without needing transportation, this spot is hard to beat. The hotel is clearly a budget-friendly option, so amenities—both on-site and in the room—are minimal, but everything was well maintained. What really stood out was the housekeeping staff. Our room was serviced daily, kept extremely clean, and they even folded items we left out, which was more attention than we expected at this price point. Security was also a big plus. The property uses wristbands and has a 24-hour attendant monitoring entries and exits, which made us feel very safe. Nights were generally quiet, and we had no issues with noise. They do offer shuttle services to local destinations, which is a nice touch, though we had a rental car and didn’t need to use them. Overall, this is a great value stay with an excellent location, cleanliness, and security. The only minor downside was inconsistent hot water in the shower—I had a couple of cold showers during our stay. I’m not sure if this is a regular issue or just a temporary one, but it’s worth mentioning. That said, we had a positive experience overall and would recommend Hotel La Choza Inn to travelers looking for a clean, safe, and affordable place right near dow

Tico breakfast the same for everyone. Sit together with other guests - make new friends. Staff helpful with tours and dining ideas. Rooms cleaned if wanted. Convenient to town square but not on a main street.

Good location, friendly staff, free tasty breakfeast and coffee. They offer a free shutle to the free hot spring/lake. You can use the kitchen to make dinner. They offer transportation from SJO. The bad aspect is that you can hear every noice, the bed was hard and we could feel the springs, and the interior is old.

Very simple hotel. We were hardly in the room. Rooms were fine, fridge, good AC. Service was very good. In fact we left our passports in the safe and the staff helped make a special trip to San Jose to bring our passports last minute. That was amazing, We definitely recommend looking for an economical yet comfortable stay.

This place was beautiful. The staff were amazing, the food was great, & the front desk guy was super helpful and patient with all of our questions and with recommendations. There is A LOT to do in this area. I would highly recommend staying here :)

A localização é ponto positivo. O ponto negativo foi que alugamos um quarto com banheiro privativo e, infelizmente, o chuveiro não esquentava e tivemos que utilizar o banheiro geral. Na descrição constava ventilador e não tinha. Não foi possível usar o ar ja que o barulho era grande. O plus foi que precisamos ficar na cidade ate as 14hrs e permitiram, sem custos, que ficássemos ate as 13hrs. Retornaríamos para hospedar no Choza Inn solicitando um quarto melhor

I was only here one night, in a private room. It was about as basic as it gets. The bed was okay but I could feel the individual springs. The included breakfast was alright but nothing spectacular. The staff were all very polite and professional, but the property itself was very much the stereotypical hostel, passable but not memorable.
