"This cottage so close to the sea, was really a pearl. We woke up to the sound from the waves. The morning coffee we enjoyed on one of the two terraces looking at the picturesque view . So nice and cozy place with a soul (one of the places you would really like to keep as a secret and not to tell anyone). "Nicer than the pictures—we only got to stay one night, but we would return when we travel through Bergen again. A plus that it had an elevator instead of having to get our luggage up the stairs. We cooked in the kitchen and found that we had what we needed to get the meals together. We also were able to do a load of laundry, a plus. "I chose to stay here because it was the cheapest option for my Trolltunga hike. It’s probably fine if you drive, but if you visit out of season without a car, you’ll need to take a taxi to P2, which cost me 800 NOK one way, basically cancelling out (or even more) the savings from staying here. The receptionist was very helpful and tried to connect me with another guest doing the hike to share transport, but it didn’t work out because they were late, so I took a taxi instead (which arrived quickly, within 5 minutes). Luckily, I met a kind Ohio couple on the guided hike who drove me back to Odda afterward. The surroundings were beautiful though, my room was next to a stream with mountain views. However, I stayed 2 nights and my room was not cleaned during my stay. This was also the first property I’ve stayed at, and I travel often, where I had to pay extra for a hot shower. The property is also a bit far from Odda city centre, and since there’s little public transport out of season, I had to walk to catch the bus to Voss. That said, I got lucky with clear skies and the hike was absolutely worth it. If you’re visiting out of season without a car, I’d recommend staying in Tyssedal instead, since Trolltunga Adventures can pick you up and drop you off there."

"Please note if booking through a 3rd party, like Expedia, the pool is not included. This was not clear in the description as it states swimming pool available. Was the main reason we booked. Still outstanding complaint with Expedia which has gone unresolved for several days since making the claim. Hotel understands but did not compromise as it was Expedia’s issue. Ball still in your court Expedia customer services."
