  • May 2016 Italian Court, Kutná Hora, Czech republic The Italian Court (Czech: Vlašský dvůr) is a palace in Kutná Hora. Originally, it was the seat of the Central Mint of Prague; it was named after the Italian experts who were at the forefront of the minting reform. The main area of the mint consisted of coin-makers-workshops, or Smithies, which were located around the courtyard, and the minting chamber, called “Preghaus”, where the Prague groschen were struck. After its reconstruction at the end of the 14th century, the Italian Court became a part-time Royal residence of Czech kings. Kutná Hora hosted the most important silver mines in the land from 14th to 16th century and the Prague groschen coin was the unified money instrument from 1300 to 1537 in the whole kingdom. The importance of the Mint and Kutná Hora has ceased in 16th century due to the cheaper import of silver from South America.

This is an unusual property but served us well for a short visit. We booked at the last minute and our options were limited, next time I might prefer to be in the city center, but this is conveniently located next to the “Bone Church”. It would be great for a family with children, although I don’t think that we were the only childless guests.

Perfect for visiting Sedlec Ossuary

Great location next to Sedlec Ossuary which meant I was first person to enter in the morning and had it to myself for 20 minutes. Queues later in the day. Fantastic hotel for kids as Lego everywhere. Bed was lower than expected so could feel my knees struggling when getting up. Lovely place.

Been to the Hotel a few times but this experience without a doubt was the worse. 1) I understand that this is a kid friendly Hotel but surely at 21h00 it should not sound like a kindergarten at break time outside. (kids screaming, crying and doors banging) 2) When one actually complains about the noise levels outside the room one was approached with a less than sympathetic person on the other side that wants to tell you about the law and noise levels after 22h00. I eventually got someone to answer after the 4th number I called. 3) The room was dusty, spiderwebs on the wooden beams, beds was creeky and hard, only one pillow hardly offers any comfort. 4) The room might of been a twin but it is a big difference from the other rooms where one actually has a desk to play with the Lego's in the room. 5) Extractor in the toilet did not work, soap holder in the shower kept falling down, poorly secured with some shoddy double sided tape, ceiling around the extractor in shower (also not working) looks like it unfinished. 6) The reception to Hotel is confusing, no clear indication where one should check in or atleast that was missed by me, eventually met by someone that seemed like they where still under training at the shop. 7) The outside play area was under renovation with a sign use at own risk and a big do not enter sign, no where was this play area closure communicated to me. On a positive note, the restaurant service was pleasant, the person serving was friendly and very accom

Det var en glad överraskning helt underbart och roligt. Mycket att göra för barn men det hade vi inga med oss tyvärr denna gång. Det enda negativa var att det inte fanns hiss återkommer gärna och går på Lego museet.

Interesting theme, uncomfortable room temperature

I booked this because it was less than a hundred meters to the ossuary and did not realize it was a LEGO themed hotel and museum. The LEGO theme was entertaining and we enjoyed walking through the showcases of built LEGO sets prior to our departure. Our room only had a small window in the bathroom that would open. the room itself did not have an AC nor any sort of fan to move air, which made sleeping quite uncomfortable on a summer night. One of two table fans would have made a big difference. We were on the top floor so it was already hot and we had to sweat much of the early night. Even a single fan would have made this an enjoyable stay. It was quite cool outside but we had no way to circulate air.

V muzeu jsem jeste nebydlela :)

Hotel oceni asi zejmena rodiny s detmi diky vsudy pritomneho lega. Muzete si stavet bud primo na pokoji nebo v herne. Muzeum Lega mate pristupne vicemene kdykoliv, protoze se nachazi primo v prostorach hotelu. Hotel ma obrovskou zahradu, taktez s atrakcemi pro deti. Parkuje se zdarma venku na ulici. Snidane na 3* hotel velmi slusna. Hotel je hned u Kostnice, pesky do centra je to tak 30-40 min. Hotelove pokoje moc pekne, nove, nas rohovy byl veliky.

クトナーホラからは歩くと30分以上かかりますがプラハからの電車駅にも近くクトナーホラの観光にはよいかもです。 近くの納骨堂と大聖堂はクトナーホラの有名な観光スポットですし。 クルマの場合もアクセスはよいです。
