We chose this condo mainly for the incredible oceanfront location — steps from Poipu Beach with truly stunning views, and that part absolutely delivered. Being able to cook meals and walk right out to the beach was exactly what we were looking for.That said, there are a few things that could use attention. The interior feels very dated, from the couches and bedding to the sheets, towels, and kitchenware. It’s not that anything was broken — it just feels like everything has been there for decades. The kitchen, while functional, is overstocked with too many mismatched items, making it feel a bit cluttered.I did appreciate that the knives were new and very sharp, which made cooking a lot easier!As someone who lives a low-tox lifestyle, I did struggle with the strong smell and taste of conventional detergents — both for laundry and dishwashing. The scent on the pillow and bedding was overpowering, and I could even taste detergent residue on the silverware. Switching to fragrance-free or more natural products would make a big difference for sensitive guests.All in all, we enjoyed our stay because of the location, but I do think the condo could really stand out with a simple refresh — updated furnishings, decluttering the kitchen, and using cleaner household products. It feels like the kind of place that has great potential but just needs a little love to take it to the next level.

Amazing view

If you want to have the privilege to drink your coffee in the morning while watching the turtles in the ocean, I really do recommend this place! Otherwise, the apartment needs to be refurbished and/or a different level of cleanliness. If you don’t get stuck in the shabbiness, the ocean at sunset is majestic!

Midwesterners traveling to Princeville/Poipu

The view is why we rented this unit. When we arrived, we discovered there is no AC. If you scroll to the bottom of the Vrbo listing, it states such. I never saw it. Fortunately the breeze thru the unit was pretty comfortable. Lots of steps down and up when you bring in luggage. The mattresses need replacing. Wonderful shower. Owner is trying to sell the unit.

Relaxing

Amazing location, able to spot whales and turtles. Walked to beaches. Relaxing ocean waves and breezes were calming. It's hard to leave this place.

Beautiful Sunsets & Central Location

Central Location with beautiful sunsets. The view is definitely the top feature. Two beaches are within walking distance. Koloa (old town) is only a short drive away that offers shops and eateries. Pool is tiny and parking structure on one floor is a bit narrow. Second and third floors are only accesible by stairs. Kitchen has plenty of dishes and cookware but no seasonings. Keys to condo have to be picked up and dropped off

Best patio on Kauai

The patio and View are unparalleled. We saw turtles every day, and I saw a lot of whales spouts. The sunsets were magnificent. For the most part, it was very quiet. This condominium is nestled in a lovely neighborhood with some nice walking paths. We discovered within an hour to never leave food out. Is these little tiny ants just swarmed some dried fruit we had. After that, no sign of insects once we cleaned everything up and did not leave food out. There are a total 23 total steps to get from the lower level, parking garage into the unit. Just a heads up for anyone who has problem with stairs. The pool is very tiny, and was quite cold. We really didn’t intend on using it anyway but again, be aware. The garage takes a bit of maneuvering, but it’s great to have free parking! We enjoyed our trip and will definitely be back.

Awesome view and location but no ac

The location is only a ten minute walk to Poipu beach and the Heritage trail. When finding the condo I fell in love with the view off the lanai and didn’t notice that there is no ac or heat. We regulated with the windows. A little warm but okay. So if you like it cool at night look elsewhere in January. We could see turtles and a few whales from the lanai too! Also they have an old fashioned key that has to be picked up at a different location.

Beautiful location, but the condo was filthy.

encrusted on the counters, sheet were dirty, sand on floor, bathroom looked like it handed been cleaned. Pool was filthy. Very disappointing and unacceptable. My son his wetsuit on the grounds, we left a message g e for property management and they never called us back.

We liked the view and sitting on the balcony watching for whales and turtles. The view from the balcony, living room and kitchen make it worth it. Appreciated all the towels. But it was NOISY. Every foot step in the units above came through loud and clear. Every voice of people talking on balconies was clear. We encountered young people literally skate boarding inside the condo above us, and while the management group offered a different condo for us on that first day, it was not on the ocean as this one was. The skateboarders checked out the next day, thankfully, but then a family with small children moved in, very noisy the whole time. Heard every wail, every foot step, every time the chairs were moved. The windows in the bedroom are hard to open (the bottom ones with the venetian blinds). Lights in the hall, spare bedroom and two lamps were burned out. The coffee pot barely worked. The carafe for keeping coffee warm was broken and terribly stained inside. The headboard of the master bed moves around and is not very comfortable. The overhead fans need cleaning, lots of dust gunk. These are minor, sure, but you know, for the price, things should be sparkling! And replace old, icky appliances. Toaster also did not work very well. Bedspreads kind of dated and old timey. Also no dish liquid, so it was hard to spot clean counters with the provided sponge and hand soap.

Romantic Kauai Vacation

Kauai Rentals was easy and professional to work with. Condo was private, clean and comfy with amazing sunset views from the lanai. The kitchen was very well appointed as was the whole condo. Easy walk to the beach and several restaurants. Would definitely stay again. Perfect way to spend our 36th anniversary! Thanks for the cooler and treats!

Stunning location

This condo was even better in person than we anticipated. Very well equipped. Finding the actual unit was a bit of a puzzle and the check-in process caused frustration in that we entered the address of the unit and went directly there before realizing the key pick-up was 30 min. away which turned out to be exactly where we had previously been. Once we were in the unit, we loved the view and location. The Poipu area as a whole was short of workers at all area restaurants (July 2021) which meant no tables and limited or no take-out. We would highly recommend making dinner reservations 3+ months in advance.

Better than i imagined

The property was gorgeous. All the rooms were as described. The best part was seeing whales, dolphins and sea turtles daily. The ocean crashing against the rocks. When we comeback this is exactly where we want to stay again!

Breathtaking Views

This was our second location on Kauai. Felt like we had come home the day we arrived. Beautiful location and could watch the sunset every night from our Lani. Lots of whale, turtle and Spinner dolphin watching from this viewpoint. Will book again. Loved the experience.

Amazing View!!

I can’t say enough about the location of this property!! Initially when I saw the inside of the condo I was disappointed. The pictures on the website must be very old because the unit is older than it appears. The furnishings were either different than the pictures or very old and worn out. The kitchen was well stocked, the appliances were fairly new but the blender leaks all over the place beware!! It didn’t matter much when I saw the view! We spent hours watching a baby whale right after it was born learning to go underwater etc. The sea turtles must live in the rocks right outside, we could see them at just about any time. The sunsets were amazing!!!! This unit faces west but when we walked around the southern tip of the island to the east we could watch the sun rise over the ocean too! (It was only about a mile) The property managers were very friendly and took care of issues promptly (the dryer had quit working before we arrived on Saturday afternoon, they informed me of the problem and installed a brand new one Monday morning). Check in was simple, we were able to get the keys when we picked up our rental car. The snorkel gear etc was stored in plastic containers on the lanai, looked kind of dirty we didn’t use it. Overall we had a wonderful trip and thoroughly enjoyed our time in Kauai, I would definitely stay again!!

Great views, perfect location

We loved our stay here. The condo had everything you could need including snorkel gear! The Lanai was perfect with a great view of the Ocean and cool breezes. We saw dolphins swimming by from the lanai. We were made to feel very welcome. Great location for exploring the south and west of Kauai. Very relaxing and comfortable.

Marginal Condo at Poipu Makai

The view (location) right on the water is absolutely stunning. After that it's all downhill. The condo has a very dark entrance with no lights. Everything inside is worn and dated. The upholstery of the desk chair was peeling off for example. Tile floors are always sticky and there aren't any mats or area rugs. The bed in the master is something between a twin and queen. Too small for 2 people. During our stay there was some sort of remodeling/repair work going on as well. The pool is a joke. About 16 x 20 feet. It's in a tiny enclosure. All in all we won't be staying here again.
