BTH - The Second Home

Very cosy and comfortable stay; Location wisest is best suited for going around the town as well as taking a nice boat cruise; Temples, marine drive etc are in close proximity so that the conditions for a family outing is perfect. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay, food and the service.

This is a hotel where local families come, hardly any foreigners. It is interesting to meet the Kerala people.

Traditional Family Hotel.

This used to be a well run family hotel. It has deteriorated. The location is still excellent but one has to ask several times for toilet paper and drinking water until something eventually turns up. The food is also more liquid rather than substance day after day. They are understaffed and have big student groups stay which strain their service. Still I can walk to many interesting places from here including the Shiva Temple and the ferry to Fort Kochi. So all in all still a reasonable deal.

Good Location but Bad Condition

This hotel is located very close to MG Road but seriously need renovation. It is a fantastic property and getting old. The mosquitos and the loud noise of crackers for the nearby Shiva Temple bothered me a lot. Otherwise value for money.

Wunderschönes Hotel in bester Lage

Wir haben zwei Nächte im Bharat Hotel verbracht und hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt. Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Ein sehr leckeres indisches Frühstück ist im Aufenthalt inklusive und sowohl ein Restaurant als auch ein kleines Imbiss-Cafe sind vorhanden. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und geräumig. Aufgrund der Nähe zum Hafen sind alle Sehenswürdigkeiten leicht zu erreichen. Vom Hafen aus fahren ca. alle 20 Minuten Fähren zu den verschiedensten Inseln in Cochin.

The rooms were ok, and you get what you pay for. Check to see if your room says it had air conditioning, as mine didn't. The restaurant down stairs is one of the best in the area, and the food is seriously good :)

Bharat Review

Staff very helpful and friendly. The room was Spartan, but clean. The hotel is located near the Main ferry station so it is easy to get to Fort Kochi and historic sites.

excellent hotel poor Room Service

i was surprised that this hotel was so good especially after reading all the negative reviews on the internet.The seats at the reception look awesome.They have maintained this hotel very nicely.though the room service is poor;we ordered some tea at 4 o clock and they gave us coffee instead then after we told them they gave us cold tea.If you want room service from 4-6 pm then get it from Kempu instead:you'll save a lot of time.

The stay was good

The stay was very comfortable - the rooms were nice, clean, good decor and room service was OK. The cordiality of the staff at the coffee shop and restaurants can improve. The buffer breakfast - Indian food was great but there could be better arrangements for the western style. The coffee shop staff and services can definitely improve - many things on the menu were not available, even at 10 PM (while the coffee shop works till 2 AM)

Great hotel for a good price

Much better to stay in Ernakulam than Forth Kochi. Ernakulam has much more Indian flavour than Fort Kochi. The hotel is vegetarian, but Grand Hotel is not far away and they have a great restaurand and they serve beer.

Bharat Hotel, Kochi

A good budget hotel for international travellers. Only vegetarian food available. However, there is a good non-veg resturant available next door. A short walk to the commercial centre - M G Road, to the Esplanade, hopital (emergencies), post office, etc. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Value for money.
