  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Extraordinary home with breathtaking views

Incredibly efficient and thoughtful use of space, which was the perfect size for our family of three and pup. The unit is clean, extremely well-maintained, and has everything you could need while enjoying the absolutely stunning sound and ocean views and super easy access to the beach. The property manager and owners were helpful and responsive. This is a dream unit and we had an amazing time enjoying our vacation with it as our base.

Peaceable Kingdom By The Sea

Our 20th+ visit to the Duck area but first time in a condo. This unit was lovely and comfortable. Fantastic views of both the ocean and Sound and very well-appointed with all conveniences including an extensive library and movie collection. Easy access to Sanderling Resort amenities. We loved our stay and look forward to a return visit.

Excellent location!

This property has extraordinary views of both the sound and the ocean. The furnishings are elegant yet comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped light and bright with everything on hand. The library is extensive which was convenient. The outdoor shower made for an easy cleanup and end to the beach day. The owners were most conscientious about ensuring that our every need was accommodated. I highly recommend Peaceable Kingdom by the Sea!
