"Great communication from host. Host met us upon arrival and showed us around. Was a rainy and blustery day, so he had built a nice warm fire for us prior to our arrival. We enjoyed the fact that we were not close to any cities and the quiet it provided at night. Nice to walk the grounds and look at the many flowers that were blooming. Would definitely stay again!"

"Historic castle. Truly historic. You may even meet Lord and Lady Bellew. The grounds are extensive and beautiful, especially the walled garden, and it is clear that a great deal of work goes into maintaining the property. Our children loved the lake, the ducks, and the beautiful free-roaming dogs and puppy. It was a really memorable setting for our family reunion.The house itself is comfortable, with en suite bedrooms, though guests should expect historic-house charm rather than hotel-style luxury. The bathrooms are functional rather than luxurious, and there were not amenities such as shampoo provided. We also noticed some loud mechanical noises overnight, particularly from the hot water heater room.The only real frustration was that the hot water was accidentally off during our stay. There may have been an expectation that guests would know how to turn it on, but as Americans this was not familiar to us, and unfortunately our message to the host went unanswered, so we ended up with cold showers. Guests should also be prepared for detailed food-waste and recycling rules, with multiple bins to sort food into. That said, Oliver was kind enough to allow 13 of us to stay rather than the stated maximum of 12, which we appreciated. Overall, we highly recommend this incredible property. You really do feel like you are part of history."

"I would like to make a complaint regarding my recent stay at your hotel. Upon arrival, I asked a member of staff what time parking enforcement on the road outside began, as I was concerned about my car being clamped. I was told that clamping started at 9:00 a.m. However, at no point was I informed that there was no underground or alternative hotel parking available. This information would have been very helpful when planning my stay. I was also disappointed with the room itself. The room was very small and, despite the warm weather, there was no air conditioning available. This made the room uncomfortable during my stay. In addition, I ordered room service and was only informed about the €5 room service charge after placing my order. I believe this charge should have been clearly communicated before the order was taken. There were also a number of issues with my food and drink order. When my order arrived, butter was missing. While I understand that mistakes can happen, it added to an already disappointing experience. Later, I requested ice but was given water instead. My partner then went down to collect ice personally, believing this would be the quickest way to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, the service remained confusing and inconsistent. Overall, I found the room clean and had no issues with the cleanliness of the hotel. However, the lack of communication regarding parking, the uncomfortable room conditions, the unexpected room service charge, and the repeated"

"Beware!! They will incorrectly charge your credit card. They charged me three times for my stay and did not immediately return the money. I had to dispute it with my credit card company. Hopefully, my credit card company will resolve it. Also, the toilet hand some kind of red stains on the seat when I got there. It was obviously not cleaned properly."
