If you're looking for a water front, single level, quiet spot on the Outer Banks of NC, this is it!

In the large back yard you will enjoy a canal, a pond, a fire pit and absolutely beautiful natural wetlands filled with wildlife as far as the eye can see!
Even with all this it is still only 1 mile from the beach! (A quick 4 minute drive)

This freshly renovated home is super clean and comfortably accommodates a total of 6 guests.

Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you'll need to cook meals. In the back yard there is a picnic table and a park style charcoal grill under a big shady oak tree.

Linens and bath towels/wash cloths are provided during your stay.

The cottage offers 3 bedrooms, 1 king bed, 2 queen beds and 1 queen sleeper sofa. 2 full bathrooms, 1 tub/shower combo and 1 walk in shower. Both bathrooms are hall baths, neither are entered through a bedroom.

All 3 bedrooms have Zinus 12 hybrid mattresses. These are a medium firmness in hopes of finding comfort for the majority of guests.

There is also an outdoor shower to enjoy after a sandy day at the beach or just an evening under the stars.

This cottage is in a small quiet neighborhood centrally located at MP 8.

This is an Animal Free Property.
Due to all the natural wildlife on the property we do not allow any domestic animals at all.

You may see other people accessing the canal during your stay, there are a couple other neighbors in the small neighborhood who have permission to use the canal for boating and fishing.

Outstanding visit to this charming OBX home. Set in a beautiful piece of property on the sound. If you plan to be outside and you should because it is beautiful bring along heavy duty bug spray. The regular spray won't help. The house is well equipped. The owner has thought of everything. It was so easy to communicate with her. She was very accommodating. Beds are extremely comfortable. It is very conveniently located to sights, restaurants, ice cream shops. We will gladly come back. Thanks for the great experience. Laura

Check-in was a breeze and very accommodating. We received our door code timely, alongside a very welcoming and informative message.Overall excellent experience in this comforting home for our family. The fully equipped kitchen allowed us to bring the family together in a home setting and avoid having to spend money. There was literally everything there that we needed, including spices!

This house is in an amazing location in Kill Devil Hills. You are right around the corner from the Wright Memorial and a straight shot to the beach in less than 5 minutes. The house was spacious with a large living room that opened into the kitchen-dining area making the space feel massive. Kayaking in the canal behind the house was a highlight of our trip. The host was super friendly and communicated quickly with us to answer questions and had many helpful suggestions of great places to go and check out.This is one of the best houses I’ve stayed in using Vrbo and hope to rent it when we go back to the area in the future.

Fabulous stay

Stayed for 1 night at this adorable house! Convenient location and even walking distance to a hole in the wall tavern! The house was extremely clean and had everything you could need and more. We enjoyed the beautiful scene in the backyard and our children loved the swing. A truly enjoyable stay!

Perfect OBX vacation

Perfect home for our OBX vacation! Easy to get to the beach and excellent places to eat, yet just outside of the hustle and bustle. Peaceful waterfront property with instant access to fishing and kayaking just outside the door. House is equipped with anything you need to feel at home and anything you may need is provided as well. Didn't want to leave, would love to go back!

Wouldn’t stay anywhere else in NC

First let me say that Ms.Tanya is an amazing host. I was able to reach out to her before I booked to make sure her place would be able to accommodate my mom who is a double amputee and fine out how far it would be from where my son was getting married. She got back to me in no time. On the way down, I was stuck at the airport in NYC for two days, but Ms.Tanya allowed my family to check in without me. She has every and anything that you could need to make your stay great. She goes over and beyond to make sure everything is A1 for her guests. If you are looking to stay in NC, the choice is an easy one to stay here.

We loved it!

I highly recommend this lovely, peaceful house on the canal. Everything was super clean! We were here for 3 days and enjoyed paddle boarding and kayaking each morning. It’s only a 5 minute drive to the beach and close to restaurants and grocery stores. The owner was so helpful and arrived immediately the one time we locked ourselves out. Hope to return someday.

Favorite OBX property

Not only was this property clean and welcoming, but it also had literally everything we needed. We didn’t have to make trips to the grocery store when my adult children forgot their toothbrushes because the host Tanya has this house fully stocked with whatever you may need. She is super knowledgeable about the area and provided us with lots of suggestions of area attractions when our first day was rainy. We crabbed in the little inlet (my kids didn’t believe that chicken legs catch crabs) and took the kayaks out for a spin. I will definitely search this listing’s availability for all future OBX stays!

Quiet OBX getaway

We were thoroughly impressed and enjoyed our stay at Tanya’s cottage. We have multiple children with special needs and prefer to visit the beach in the off-season. This was a great location to land when our daughter was overwhelmed, close enough to venture out multiple times a day to the sights but removed enough to decompress. Everyone LOVED the backyard swing and kayak gear for our use. Made it very easy for everyone to get to do something they enjoyed, which has been difficult for our family for many years. We cooked many of our meals, and were amazed at how well stocked the kitchen was. The bedrooms had ample space for my crew, and two bathroom was a nice bonus!! Tanya was a great communicator and made the check-in/out process seamless. We are looking forward to our next visit already!

Time well-spent with grandsons

I would give this house a 10, except it only goes to 5! Tanya is a superb host and thought of “everything” necessary to make you feel welcome. Upon arrival, there was a basket of water and snacks, along with a welcome note. She provided everything you could possibly think of to make our stay comfortable. There were kayaks (which the grandsons took advantage of), life jackets, beach chairs and boogie boards (which we used at the beach), a variety of indoor and outdoor games. There was a clothes hamper for your use, extra toothbrushes and toothpaste, in case you forgot yours, hand lotions, soaps, extra everything for your use. The kitchen was well stocked….which hasn’t always been the case with other VRBOs. Another bonus was that the house was located near all the things we wanted to see and do. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone wanting a nice, clean, cozy place to stay. It was the perfect size for us and our two teenage grandsons. Generally teenagers don’t comment on the house, because it isn’t important to them, but our two mentioned on several different occasions how nice this house is. You can’t go wrong!! Thank you Tanya for staying in touch and making our stay so enjoyable.

Wonderful stay at a beautiful location. It had everything you may need on vacation, beach gear, basic necessities, and even kayaks to explore the canal in the back yard! Would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again!

Quaint beach vacation

This property was great! The house was recently renovated and well stocked. The host Tanya was easy to communicate with and even had things like beach chairs and toothpaste available to use if you forgot yours. The beds and pillows were terribly stiff/hard so that would be our only complaint. Perhaps they will break down in time. There was ample parking and ease of getting to the property. If you want a quiet location not directly on the beach, than this is the place to stay!

The perfect spot!

This place is a gem! The house is spotlessly clean with everything you need for comfort. The property feels out of the way, but is close to all the fun things, and is a beautiful, natural spot to unwind after a day out. Bring binoculars for bird watching! Tanya is awesome, and made us feel special. Highly recommend!

Great property, great host!

This is one of the cleanest and most comfortable properties we’ve stayed at. Tanya thought of everything to include in the house, from beach chairs and towels to bug spray, sunscreen and sunglasses. She gave lots of helpful ideas of things to do and see.
