We were told check in was at 4:00. When we arrived at 4:15, the cleaning staff was still there. Note this was in early June 2020 and they were NOT wearing masks, although Vacasa guaranteed a deep clean and that all cleaners would be wearing masks. The cleaners abruptly left without finishing cleaning. The upstairs bathroom was still toothpaste stained from the prior guest, and they did not vacuum, clean the floors. The. towels were all stacked dirty on the washing machine. We were told there would be a welcome package of basics like soap, etc., which they did not leave. We called the customer service line left by Vacasa and waited for more than an hour with no answer. We did this three times and finally by the fourth day of the trip, somebody finally answered after an hour wait. They said they would bring some supplies for us and also repair a bathtub drain that was broken. When the guy came, he walked straight into the house WITHOUT a mask. Finally, a code is required to get into the neighborhood pool, and this is nowhere in the house or materials. We finally had to ask a neighbor for the code because we did not want to call Vacasa and wait on hold. We had planned another rental with Vacasa Kiawah in August and just cancelled it. Will never use them again.
