We loved the location as it was halfway between the north shore and south shore making day trips to the Canyon or Princeville ideal. We were there when the big storm hit, so only downfall was when bridge went out from the crane, making travel the airport or south very slow going, but at no fault of the owner.
Only things we were disappointed in is that there was no cupboard space for food. All the cupboards and drawers in the kitchen were full of dishes, pots and pans, so there wasn’t a place to put food in other than fridge, so a lot of food had to stay out on the counters. We did encounter several roaches in the kitchen cupboards, which we were ready for because it is Hawai’i, so be prepared to rinse your glasses, plates, bowls, silverware etc before using them.
The A/C never worked right. It never got lower than 76 in the condo with it turned on, so it was a bit muggy until night. If you’re not used to heat and humidity, it can be overwhelming.
We give it an 8.5/10 overall. Would stay at Waipouli Resort again.
