Unexpected surprises

I have nothing but good things to say about Melanie and our accommodations! We were in Flathead to celebrate our 50th anniversary with our son and his family. Melanie surprised us with a lovely "Montana" gift and sweet note! The location was beautiful and was everything we were hoping for! What we hadn't planned on was a very bad windstorm, causing some damage to the home and surroundings. Through it all, Melanie tried to help with all the issues that arose due to the damage and help where ever she could. Coming from Minnesota, and having been on many Boundary Water trips, we are pretty hardy and tried to take it in stride. We hope Melanie will be able to "right" the damage soon so others can experience a very special place. It certainly made a memorable anniversary!

Dreamy!

My family and I traveled from Washington state to explore MT for the first time. The location, the property, the home, and every detail Mel put into this has made our family wanting more! I wish the photos online could capture all the beauty this home has to offer. A true gem! 10/10 book it!

Wedding weekend

Clean and well stocked house. Gorgeous views of the mountains and fields. Bonus was the chickens, fresh eggs and kittens that my boys fell in love with.

Great place to relax and recharge

The pictures on the Vrbo site don't fully capture this "little piece of heaven". Such a relaxing, calm, spacious place to enjoy family time. Just need food, clothing and personal items and you're all set to relax and recharge. Plenty of places inside and out to enjoy family or alone time. Such a peaceful spot. There is a walk-in shower in addition to a comfortable cast iron soaking tub in the spacious master suit, with the sliding glass door by the hot tub. The entire house was very comfortable and the property is incredible. The location is central to many places in the area. Mel providing a great list of options for adventures and activities, along with restaurants. She is an excellent host and communication was easy. She generously treated us with a gift card at Ceres Bakery - delicious. Mel, thank you for being such a great host.

Fantastic stay

This is the second time we've stayed here and the property is great. We've got a boat and love having a dock right at the house and the view of the river is beatiful. It is a 10 minute drive to Kalispell and you can come back and unwind in the hot tub.

Relaxing Stay

Home was very spacious and had everything we needed! Great location that is secluded yet close enough to town. Private access to Church Slough which is beautiful. Kids enjoyed kayaking, fishing, hot tub, and everything else that comes with this property. Thank you for a great stay!!

A Complete Dream

Look no further, this is it. Absolutely gorgeous and spacious property. My family & friends made the most incredible memories. Roasting s’mores by the fire pit. Collecting fresh eggs. Fishing off the dock. Splashing in the hot tub. It’s a perfect location. Not too far from main town but far enough to feel the privacy. Highly recommend. A trip we will treasure forever.

Bill, Francia, Rascal, Jim, Jana Jordan and Maleah

It was really nice. Our son Jim his wife Jana, and granddaughters Jordan and Maleah joined. us the last two weeks. We were greeted by a Huckleberry coffee cake our hostess made. Then later a huckleberry and blueberry pie to kill for. We made new friends with the hens that provided my daily breakfast and a great kitsch baked by Jana. I enjoyed my daily conversations with all of the hens as I gathered the eggs and fed them bread. I watched the beginning of life as an Osprey couple next door took turns sitting on the nest then feeding the young-uns. I tried fishing several times in the ox-bow of the Flathead River behind us but without success. The access to the ox-bow is fine, but getting into and out of the kayaks was somewhat difficult off the dock. JThe area surrounding the home is primarily farmland. There are very large cottonwoods behind the house which provide a lot of shade. It was unfortunate that the recent flooding created a lot of mosquitoes which made it difficult to sit on the deck in the early evening. Our dog Rascal and our son’s dog Nala had a ball playing fetch in the big yard. We wanted to watch Wimbledon tennis and the Tour de France while there., But ended up streaming it on my computer on NBC Sports because the home only had local channels picked up on an antenna. Streaming worked fine once I worked out a few wrinkles. Our kids and granddaughters did a lot of touring. All in all we loved the house and farm setting. Bill, Francia and Rascsl.?

Stop Scrolling and Book this

We have stayed at many VRBO rentals and by far this is in our top 5. The house is even better than pictured, clean, well stocked kitchen, lots of towels, and the beds are comfortable. Melanie is an awesome host, communicates often and we used her food guides which were on point! The location is centrally located to Glacier, Whitefish, and Flathead Lake. The property is unique and if you like photography there's lots of opportunities to get some great shots. We swam across the oxbow and enjoyed the movie room. You won't regret booking here!

Fantastic stay for a family gathering

My family spent a week here this summer (9 total, including 4 boys from 9-16 years old) and we had a fantastic time. I can’t say enough good things about the property, host, and location. The property: there’s so much to do here! My kids loved the chicken coop, the barn cats, the neighbor’s dog Bella (who loved running after our frisbee), the fire pit, the movie room, and the hot tub. The Church Slough was wonderful and we paddled on it almost every day. There’s even an old spinnet piano that I would play on every day. The host: Mel is super friendly and attentive. She provided great recommendations for things to do and eat. And the coffee cake she made on our arrival was wonderful. She truly is a “super host”. The location: Great central location in the area. You’re relatively close to Whitefish, Columbia Falls, Kalispell, Bigfork, Flathead Lake and Glacier. I never felt like I had to drive more than 30-40 minutes anywhere, which was nice. The flip side is that the property is tucked off from the busy roads so you still feel remote and things are quiet. Thank you for sharing your Montana retreat with us Mel and family!

Great week!

Perfect location, views and accommodations. Great place to spend a week with nature. Chickens with fresh eggs daily! Bonfires with marshmallows! Hot tub with epic views. The barn cat is the best ever….. we really enjoyed everything about the property and the host went out of her way to makes things perfect!!

Melanie was amazing and assisted quickly when needed. The property was great and secluded but yet close to town. The location was perfect for our needs and the race we came into town for. Wish she had an on site moose and bear to see but I won’t hold that against her. Thank you! Stay awesome!

We stayed here as a central location for our family as our daughter was getting married nearby.

The property was as advertised and truly suited our needs. It was just lovely. Hot tub was a nice retreat on a cold snowy night after long day of celebration and dancing. Kitchen was well stocked. Only possible negatives were that the house was not as well set up as it could have been for winter weather (low on firewood in house, snow shovel not accessible, etc..) however Melanie communicated this omission promptly with us upon inquiry and we were able to make due the night we checked in and gather supplies the following day. We had a great time and would stay here again!

Gorgeous view…very comfortable and cozy

We loved staying here. The fireplace in the evenings was wonderful. The kitchen was great especially if you’re foodies and like to cook. The master bath has a heated floor…amazing. Melanie couldn’t have been more helpful.

A warm hug

My wife and I decided to rent this very cozy and quiet farm house and are so glad we did! It was exactly the peacefulness we were looking for, but yet just close enough to everywhere of interest. Glacier national park was of coarse one of the highlight. Leave early and get a place to park for a hike, then drive “the road to the sun.” Spectacular!!!!! Ate at Loulas in whitefish for the best biscuits and gravy we have ever had.. The perfect dinner for a nice night out was Beargrass Bistro. Best dining experience of the trip. Food was amazing and a great wine selection. Highly recommend a 1/2 day of fly fishing on the flathead river. So relaxing and fun. Yes the wife caught more. Throw some axes at Hank’s Hatchet. (I won!) Horseback ride at Artemis Acres Paint Horse Ranch. Such a nice experience and would come back. to stay. Mel was one of the best hosts we have ever had (we rent a lot of vrbo homes) She was so pleasant and responsive to all our needs and requests. The fresh eggs, bag of coffee beans, fantastic homemade creamer and huckleberry cake were such a nice touch! I guess we will have to buy eggs at the store again…bummer! The barn cats and Bella (the neighbor dog) added so much enjoyment throughout our stay. They will be missed! Great stay and would highly recommend to all size groups! Thank you Mel for everything!!!!!!

Good but could be better

Beautiful, private location right on the river and very cool property including chickens and use of kayaks on the water. The host was very responsive and kind. For the price, however, we were surprised about the quality of a number of things that could be taken care of (the dumpsters weren't picked up and were full upon arrival, the hot tub was not drained after the previous renters) and others that are more about the property (for a huge house, there was room for only 4 people to sit in the living room, there was nowhere to sit outdoors on the enormous deck except the dining table). Overall, we'd recommend for groups of up to 4 people max.

Wonderful Farmhouse with Modern Finishes

This farmhouse was perfect for our family of 8. We used the location as a launching point to go to Wild Horse Island, horseback riding, fly fishing in Columbia Falls, swimming in the Flathead Lake, and white-water rafting on the Middle Fork. The kids absolutely loved finding eggs in the morning at the hen house and ending the day kayaking on the slough. The beds and amenities were very comfortable and the kitchen was fully stocked. Sunrises over the Mission Range were beautiful and taking in the sights from the deck was the most peaceful start and finish to a day. Melanie was an amazing host! She was very attentive and provided great advice about where to eat. We would definitely stay here again!
