4/10 Poor

"This is a very basic hotel next door to a casino and leisure center near Jonzac town. 3 nights here was a long time for how little there is to do, but we were only in the area for proximity to a wedding venue in La Canonerie. This should not be advertised as 4*, the exterior is very run down, our apartment room overlooked the carpark, the balconies are run down, no basic amenities in the room like a hairdryer or iron, no cooked breakfast options just a very simple buffet in the hotel lobby, no restaurant or bar for lunch or dinner, no swimming pool, 1 thin pillow per person in bed, you have to put your own bin liners inside the bins and also dispose of them yourself opposite the carpark. These are not what I’d expect for 4 star accomodation. You can walk into Jonzac town within 15-20 minutes. As an area it is very hard to get taxis so these must be pre booked at least 24hrs in advance."

"We had the most amazing time staying in Estelle’s chateau. She was a brilliant host - giving us a tour of the property including the history - and helped me with ideas for an itinerary for our trip.We had 19 adults and 1 baby stay - the chateau was even better than pictured - incredibly beautiful, all the rooms were clean and well appointed, and the facilities were great for hosting such a large party (kitchen utensils, pool towels, bbq etc.). I also highly recommend doing the wine tour with Estelle as we learned so much from her about tasting and production.I will think of any excuse to come back and do the whole thing again! Thank you again Estelle!"

"The property itself is very nice. The room was clean and nicely set up. However, the owners could be more helpful. I arrived at 2:15 pm, exhausted, after 37 hours of traveling. I asked if it was possible that our room was available. I was told in no uncertain terms that check in was not until 4 pm. I then advised the owner of my exhaustion and asked if we could wait on the loungers by the pool, which were completely empty. I was then told that there would be a 20 Euro fee for this. I thought this was inhospitable and insensitive and spoiled any good vibes for our stay."

"The room was a great size, property was nice and quiet (April 2). Access to the waterpark is wonderful. My only recommendation is for late arrival check-in process to be easier. I was a guest off-season so I understand staffing, svcs, etc. are reduced (official check-in is a two hour window, 5p-7p). "
