Secluded stay

Log cabin in the woods

The house was somewhat clean, could have been cleaner. The hot tub had a broken piece that when we turned on the bubbles water sprayed everywhere. No hand towels for the sinks , bathroom and kitchen. The kureg coffee maker didn’t work. Broken shelf in freezer. Limited cookwaresnd old.

The house is charming and great for traveling with older kids as there are two bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs. When we arrived the dirty linens and towels from the last guest were on the beds. The property manager told us that the cleaning lady forgot to go to the house. I ended up washing the previous tenants sheets and towels. The washer was in the basement that was labeled for employees only. It was a good thing that I was given permission to go down there because that's where the cleaning supplies and paper towels were kept. We would have had neither if we didn't go to the basement. The stair light was out so the steep stairs were in darkness all night. The hot tub was cold. There were no directions on how to turn it on. I had to text and call the property manager who first sent me a youtube video about how to work the hot tub and then the hot tub repair man called and walk me through the process. I appreciated the effort, but it would have been better to have instructions at the house and even better still to have arrived to a hot hot tub. The light at the hot tub was also out. I was told to complain to the rental agency. They required pictures and documentation of everything that was wrong. It's hard to take pictures of a cold hot tub and non-working lights. The house has great potential, but it is not well managed.

Simple & Sweet

This property is simple, sweet, quiet, and fine if you don't need it to be luxurious or perfect. It's a gorgeous setting, away from neighbors. There are some wildlife issues (lots of scurrying in the rafters at night) due to the quiet and remote location. If the power goes out, a loud generator comes on. Having a generator is such a plus, but it was surprising in the middle of the night.The hot tub was great and the wood stove was cozy. Both needed directions from our host who was very helpful and communicative. Furnishings are ADK rustic. Bathrooms were clean. Kitchen needs some updating and repair but we were able to do the basics. All in all a nice stay and great proximity to Gore and skiing.

Much needed getaway

It was just like we hoped! A clean, cozy, rustic cabin that allowed us to relax and unwind. We enjoyed the wood burning stove a lot! We loved visiting nearby towns and hamlets and enjoying wineries, craft breweries and local distilleries. The gem for us was a trip to Lake Placid and reliving the memories of the 1980 US Olympic Hockey Team.We loved every minute of our stay here and look forward to returning

Property was secluded and close to skiing. kitchen needs updated cookware to cook for a family, which is why we stay in a house not hotel.

Great Property, weird issues

We had a very relaxing stay at this property! the hot tub was great as was the fireplace. very spacious and comfortable and secluded, but close enough to stores and resources. When we arrived the lights in the bathroom and the diningrooom lights weren’t working, we reported it and the owner had an electrician come out the next morning. they discovered that the last guest had unscrewed all the lightbulbs in the cabin … weird. one of the bedrooms upstairs also locks from the outside and it’s just very odd. other than that the stay was very relaxing and the house was great. we also had an issue with a cleaning lady who began screaming at us for being about 25 minutes late to leave. which about 10 of that was spent being berated by her. it was a little unprofessional. The owner seems great and very responsive, it just looks like maybe the cleaning company needs to do a better job checking over the property before guest arrive and with their overall professionalism. With that being said, I still recommend this property. it was a nice getaway!

This property was very clean, beautiful, private, and had everything we needed. The guest contact responded almost immediately to any questions we had via email, but was difficult to get ahold of via phone. Overall an incredible stay and would love to come back again

Another Year

Have stayed here a few years now. Great place though this year had a few issues. From the TV not working and the microwave being broken. After that, I’m not sure where we will stay next year.

Great stay at a secluded comfortable cabin

The cabin was clean, comfortable, and well appointed. Everything was in great working order. The check-in process was very easy and communication was quick and concise. The Location of the cabin is secluded yet a short drive to dining, hiking, skiing, shopping, and entertainment. Highly recommended.

Very close to gore mountain . Cute mountain house ! Very clean !

Very cute mountain house! Has tons of condiments snd spices ! From previous reviews - first floor bed was fine ; there were washcloths and paper towels . No dishwasher or washer /dryer but local laundromat we used one time while there . Hot tub was great !! I would stay again !!

Great Cabin

Awesome cabin for a ski trip to Gore. The place was clean and comfortable. The hot tub was great. It snowed about 2 feet and the driveway was plowed and shoveled right away. Great communication with the host. Only negative is the upstairs beds could use a upgrade but it wouldn’t stop me from renting again. Fantastic

Nice Area.

This cabin was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The jacuzzi was nice. Only complaints would be the mattress on the beds need to be replaced.

Stunning and relaxing

This place was fantastic it's in a town where there is just about nothing which was perfect we just needed to get away. But there's a beautiful marsh and a small mountain across the street and it's a perfect place to wake up and enjoy some coffee and the sound of nature. The manager responded to any concern we had very quickly and it felt like a home away from home. I will definitely be planning to come back. You can't beat the price and the relaxation at this place is incredible. My only regret booking it was that my stay was 4 nights and not 40 !

Perfect spot!

We had THE BEST time at this adorable secluded property! It’s very private, perfect size and about 10 minutes from Gore. My sister lives close by so we had so much fun with her and the skiing was incredible! The house had everything we could need. The HOT TUB was our favorite part after a long day of shredding!! Will go back for sure!!

Cozy cabin in the woods!

Overall the cabin was great! The hot tub was a nice feature! Cabin was warm without needing the wood burner. A note for future guests: living room has seating for 4 only. (3 sitting on sofa and 1 on chair). Both shower stalls are very small. We are average size and felt very cramped. Double futon bed could use a better mattress. Also, bring your own wash cloths, paper towels and tissues. All else was available including 1 blow dryer. Cell service bad for calling, but texts and wifi were great. We will definitely stay here again! Thank you!

Perfect for a get away

Overall we had a really great time! Directions were pretty straight forward, the hot tub was fantastic and a very short distance to the porch. The location was indeed secluded and was very quiet, they provided firewood as well which really made the place feel cozy. We did find it hard to find storage for our belongings as there wasn’t any closet or dresser space. We did end up buying our own smaller grill as the two on the property could use a little love and we had concern of a door that wasn’t latching right. Either way, all of those things considered they can easily be fixed and wouldn’t stop you from having a great time!

Awesome getaway!!

Had the opportunity to spend a couple nights here and everything was great! Make sure to put address in to GPS well before you arrive as there is no cell phone service. Also Save a copy of the check in instructions somewhere other than your phone because without cell service you won’t be able to access.
