5/5 Excellent
"We stayed one night and had opted for a Premium room. The hotel has a nice lobby with a Mid Century vibe (nice set of vintage Fritz Hansen chairs). Staff was welcoming and check in was easy as we had prepaid. Our corner room was the largest we had during our trip to Norway. We also were excited that it had a bathtub!
The hotel has an interesting history.
There was a great breakfast buffet and surprisingly, a buffet dinner was also included. It seemed the hotel was housing some workers with a local factory and breakfast and dinner was part of the “deal”. So all the guests benefited. We were first worried about noise, but there was no issues as they were up early.
Porsgrunn is a nice town on a river, with an interesting history as the center of Norwegian porcelain production. It is also the base for people interested in renting boats to explore the river and canals. We found it a surprise and glad we spent some time there."
