"Overall, our stay was okay. It was not the cleanest place, they had issues with a lot of insects, granted the area and the temps will heighten this but I had to move rooms multiple times because of issues each room had. It was inconvenient for me as I traveled with two small children making things a lot harder. I would probably not stay there again if given the opportunity. "

The pool did not have an operable pump and filter system. The hotel has 9 rooms in which only three were occupied. Had the hotel been fully occupied it would have been crowded. "The positive is It is a quaint hotel and we had a fairly nice room however the bed was hard and it leaked at night through the window the first night so we woke up to puddles on the floor. The food was decent although I got sick the last evening from something I ate. The pool is nice but the lounge chairs are hard and formed so you can only lay in them on your back. THE WORST PART was that they had a party at the pool for a private event the second night until 2:00am!! We couldn’t sleep at...

Papantla is not on the tourist trail but nearby El Tajín does draw visitors, and many stay here. If you want luxury hotels, stay in Poza Rica. If you prefer a charming Mexican town and real local flavor, stay here. Just don’t expect the Hilton. "
