Management seems dishonest and/or incompetent.
I made reservations through Expedia for 5/23-5/25.
At 9:20 AM on 5/24, I was called abruptly and asked to leave ASAP. My room was really needed! and "booked for that night." (I'd already paid for it.)
The Expedia site showed 6 identical rooms still available for that date 😀.
It took an hour to resolve this debacle and get a refund (shout-out to Expedia customer service!)
Management: just tell the truth. Or come up with a better lie. Or have a policy. Or have more than one lady capable of making decisions. Or understand your booking software. Or comprehend the basic value of customer loyalty and word-of-mouth advertising.
I'm a nice kid - quiet and clean. (I even take out my own garbage!) I may look like a fly-fishing hippy with weird hair, but I also have a Masters degree and a diverse social network. I'd been a huge cheerleader, reccomending fellow sportsmen and friends traveling to stay here.
Not anymore.
This place was rumored to have issues with guests using/selling drugs in the past. You've done a great job cleaning that up! I'm not a fan of paying a $200 deposit. I understand the intent, yet... Even locals like myself need a "stay-cation" or find themselves in transition.
The Econo Lodge next door seems cleaner and better updated too.
