Horseshoe Lake

One of the nicest places we stay along our trip. Employees went out of their way for us.

The views are spectacular, and the weather was wonderful. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The staff were friendly and made some great suggestions on places to eat and sight see. Parking isn't always available up by the property, so take a rain coat for the walk to the property, if you choose not to pay for valet parking. The tram is a lot of fun up the mountain, and the Bore Tide Deli & Bar served good food up there as well. They have a neat little gift shop up there. I wouldn't recommend the Asian dining experience at the hotel. Those making the food were not very sanitary. They wiped their hands on old aprons, touched pens, receipts, their glasses and face, then made the sushi and dishes without gloves or without washing their hands. The beds are not that comfortable. The temperature in the room is not adjustable, which can be a little frustrating, but overall it was a good experience. A little ways down from the property they have a nice ice cream shop, and a gift shop called the Tourist Trap.

Staff were very nice and helpful. Breakfast was as good as any restaurant. Rooms by road are noisy, thought the windows were open. Evening “reception” was lackluster at best. Pool and hot tub were clean.
