A New Retreat in an Old Barn: The owners planned, remodeled, and expanded Refugium 29A with great passion, their own ideas, and—as far as technically possible—on their own. The result is a modern, standalone, two-story living and wellness area featuring charming details. The barn is directly adjacent to your old half-timbered house, which features various garden areas.
The retreat is accessed through the large, glass-enclosed “barn door,” where cozy seating areas already invite you to linger. On the first floor, next to the spacious hallway with a built-in closet, is the kitchen, featuring high-quality, modern appliances and a view of the garden. Upstairs, in the barn area, there is a bright indoor terrace; the open-concept retreat features a small fitness area with a modern weight station, a rowing machine, and an infrared sauna.
Those who wish can watch TV on the comfortable sofa; those who don’t can use the remote control to retract the TV back into the parapet. The bright, spacious sleeping area features a bed with two electrically adjustable slatted frames controlled by a wireless remote, which also invites you to relax and read. From here, you have direct access to the modern bathroom with a large shower and a unique ambiance. Cozy seating areas can be found in the barn and outdoors as well.
The retreat has been awarded 5 stars according to the quality criteria of the German Tourism Association (first-class overall amenities with exclusive comfort). The retreat is also certified as a “Wanderbares Deutschland” quality host by the German Hiking Association.
