「We had a lovely weekend at Ashlea. The cottage is well equiped & feels like a real home - very peaceful, great views & easy reach if Barnard Castle. Great walks from the doorstep. We were made so welcome by Ann, (loved the fresh baked bread & flowers). We will stay here again.」

「Our stay at the New Inn 1730 was only overnight, and we arrived around 6pm on a Sunday evening. This is a welcoming & friendly pub, with restaurant and accommodation. The owner did his best to accommodate our needs during our short stay, and is still finding his feet a little having only recently taken on the business.
