Great views with plenty of wildlife to see. Owners were super nice and they even let us feed their horses. Located in the middle of everything, so most drives were less then 30 minutes. Would stay again.
This is a very cute rustic cabin. It was well stocked and very clean. My kids loved the basketball hoop outback. It was fun to have an area they could just go hang out. It’s a perfect distance from the state parks and Mount Rushmore. Thank you very much. We enjoyed our stay.
The property had everything we needed, it was clean and very comfortable. Plenty of room to cook and eat outside and a fire pit for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows. The hosts were very responsive to the few questions we had. We certainly enjoyed our stay and would return next time we are in the area.
I have stayed at 3 different cabins around Mt. Rushmore on 3 different trips. This is the best place that I have stayed at. The hosts are really friendly, and live near by. The kitchen overlooks a pasture with horses. The property is clean. Loved this place.
This cabin was perfect for our Black Hills/Badlands vacation. It is spacious, clean, & comfortable. Loved the decor, too. And, seeing the animals on the ranch was a bonus! Definitely recommend!
Mandy was great. I had some meds delivered before I could get there and she received them and took care of them until I got there. The unit we stayed in was beautiful and the wildlife in the yard was great. Will definitely recommend.
Gorgeous. Woke to deer grazing in front yard. Awesome family experience. Clean, conveniently located, enough sleeping space for whole family. Highly suggest.
The place was clean and met our needs. We enjoyed staying here and how convenient it was to get to the places we wanted.. Will definitely recommend to friends and will return.
Property and location is amazing. Set's next to a National forest if you want to do some hiking. Seen deer every morning and evening. The owners are very friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a great getaway for some relaxation this is the place for you.
We enjoyed the centralized location and were able to see all the area attractions within a couple of days. We enjoyed watching the deer in the evenings and we loved the options outside with the fire pit, basketball hoop and yard games. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed for the stay. Matt & Jen are great hosts!

Loved it. Great location for Mt Rushmore and the Badlands. We so enjoyed watching the horses 🐎 running to the barn in the morning. Cabin number 1 was clean, cozy and full of amenities. Our only regret was staying only for an overnight.
This cabin was an amazing place to stay! Out in the countryside with wildlife and farm animals all around. Plenty of room for us and two teenage boys. Very relaxing! The fireplace was great for the cold evenings. Having laundry on site was so convenient! The kitchen and grill made cooking homemade meals a breeze. Very comfy and cozy! We highly recommend staying at Ghost Canyon!
The cabin was a great place to use a rest stop on our vacation. Easily, it was the cleanest place we’d ever rented through VRBO. The owners obviously take a lot of pride in their property and it is well kept. They also were very attentive to the “little things.” They were well stocked with laundry supplies, had coffee for us to brew in the morning, and plenty of extra linens. Speaking of linens, nicest towels I’ve ever had in a rental. They’re usually hotel quality and thin, but these are just like ones we’d have at home.
The house had two nice sized bedrooms that easily accommodated our family of five. The bathrooms were clean with great towels (not the thin hotel kind). Loved having a washer/dryer on site and the kitchen had everything we needed. Was grateful for good wifi as the property was remote and we had no access to mobile data. We were just a few miles from Custer State park. The property has lots of horses nearby and we saw lots of deer. Nice firepit area and gas grill came in handy.
Place was quiet and clean and convenient to Custer State Park. Lots of deer, turkeys, etc around the property and Forest Service trails are just across the road. Be aware this is not a separate cabin, it is a unit in a building of three units so you will likely have neighbors. That was not at all clear from the online listing. Fortunately it was not a big issue during our trip, but it could be if neighbors are loud or have lots of kids.
Wow. This cabin was phenomenal! Beautiful location, spacious and clean, with all of the amenities we needed as a family on the road. The western decor was such a fun touch and my kids absolutely loved the “half door” that led to their bedroom with the bunks. Walking out to see the animals in the morning was such a special treat as well, especially for my horse loving daughter. The location was also perfect for our explorations to Custer, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and more!
Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer. We will definitely be back and are so grateful for this special place!
Thank you from Northern Michigan!
I loved staying at this air b n b along with my 3 other family members. Theres nothing better than going out and exploring all south dakota has to offer and then coming back to a super comfortable living space.
Matt was very responsive and just an all around nice guy. Theres beautiful horses in the front, deer and nature everywhere. The stars are amazing in this location too. I have nothing but awesome things to say about Matt and his property. We had so much fun. Hes also got a wood stove to use which just made the nights even more cozy. I have so much more to say but ill leave it at this; if i ever come to south dakota again ill be booking here again.
Also; hes got a referigorator, stove, washing maching and dryer, towels, soaps, wood for the stove and heating and cooling in each room. Showers were hot, the place was clean.
Check out custers loop which is right down the road tons of buffalo and antelopes. Perfect distances to crazy horse and mt. Rushmore. We did it all from this location.
