Wonderful stay at the Heron house very comfortable and accommodating very peaceful which is what we always look for everything you need is here enjoyed our once of year trip to Healdsburg
Location is great with deck overlooking river was great. Rustic feel, well equipped. Kayaks were a well enjoyed bonus. Nice to have AC but it was loud so we turned off at night. We stayed 6 adults … but not 3 couples … so sleeping accommodations were a little tight with someone in living room. Communication and check in was easy, departure instructions clear and easy to follow. Plenty of parking. Would definitely stay again when visiting Healdsburg!
We enjoyed our stay and found our accommodations to be relaxing, clean, and comfortable.
Would definitely recommend for your next visit to the wine country.
We had a fabulous stay. Great house with a great location. It was lovely waking up and going outside to enjoy the river and woods around us. 5 min drive from Healdsburg main streets with great stores and restaurants. Enjoyed our drive to the coast, redwoods, and vineyards! Would stay again!
Home is situated in a very quiet and scenic location on the river, with a nice deck with outside dining and hot tub. Property had kayaks and other river equipment available, too. Home was clean, with a lovely kitchen and rooms. We would stay here again.
The home is located in such a peaceful place, out of the main downtown area up the mountain overlooking the Russian River yet so accessible to town. It's central to wineries, great biking and more. The home is cute and totally adequate, we were thrilled!
2 couples stayed at the house for a long weekend. It had everything we needed for a terrific stay. Easy access to Healdsburg, and Alexander Valley and Dry Creek wineries. Recent rains made the river too high for the beach or kayaks but we had plenty of other things to keep us occupied. We’ll return to this house next trip to the Healdsburg area.
Or family of 4 enjoyed our stay at the Heron House. It was a perfect location for reaching the wineries in the Sonoma area as well as restaurants. The house had all the necessities including a stocked kitchen for meal prep. Beds were very comfortable and linens & towels were great, too. The broker/owner was very helpful when we had an issue with the coffeemaker and promptly replaced it for us. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Heron House to family & friends who plan on visiting the wine country.
We often head to Healdsburg to visit family, and like staying by the river. This house is by far our favorite place to stay!! Beautiful setting overlooking the river, large deck for family meals, clean and well maintained hot tub, nice BBQ, and two paths down to the water. Inside, the furniture is very comfortable and a good place to relax and spend time catching up with family. Great well stocked kitchen with new appliances and a good sized dining room table. There really is nothing to complain about, so we plan on a return visit very soon!!
We visited during an abnormally rainy spell, which made the hot tub and view a key part of our stay--we couldn't use the kayaks because the river was so full and rushing so quickly, but made for a beautiful view.
As a family of four visiting on the back end of a 10-day trip, we appreciated the use of washer/dryer, as well as the ability to cook meals in the well-stocked kitchen. The furnishings are a bit mismatched and nothing fancy, but are comfortable and more than fine.
This house has everything you need to unwind. It's location is perfect - it feels secluded with the river and the forest, but you are 10 minutes away from a Safeway. The very first morning we were there, we were lucky to see deer, egrets, a heron, and otters in the river. We all had a fantastic time using the kayaks. The kitchen had everything you would need. Overall, we just had the best time at this beautiful home. Thank you for sharing it with us!
We really enjoyed the home and property and having the intertubes to float on was really nice. I was a bit confused by the listing which showed 3 bedrooms but then listed a sofa bed as a "4th" bedroom in the listing. We arrived believing the 4th bedroom would provide some privacy but that was my error. We also weren't able to use the barbeque due to a propane leak at the tank but we made due with the beautiful stove and everything turned out great. I especially loved the gated driveway which protected our cars as well as our dog from going out into the street. This is good for children as well. The master bathroom is small but convenient and the home is well maintained. WC Lodging was very quick to respond to my requests, even on the holiday weekend! We enjoyed the hot tub, the deck with the river view, and the beds which were very comfortable. Thank you!
When we arrived at the Heron House we were greeted by a charming front garden that was so welcoming we could not wait to explore more of the property. It did not disappoint. The first impressions were of charming cottage feels. It had enough space to not feel like we were squished together but also not overly grand that the warm and comfort would be missed. We had dinner and wine on the back deck and then relaxed in the hot tub in the evenings. It was an excellent experience overall. The only thing is we weren’t able to locate a couple of the light switches that connect to the outside lights above the hot tub but we were able to improvise. This house is no fuss, it was clean, the view of the river was really nice and the neighborhood is extremely quiet at night. No the house is not modern but that is what is so charming about it! We would love to come back and stay at the Heron House in the future.
Perfect place for 3 couples. Comfortable. Pro kitchen (which we didn’t have the opportunity to use.) enjoyed the hot tub and sweet figs on the trees. Lovely spot right on the river, where we spotted an otter!
This house has a great layout for 3 couples. All 3 bedrooms are fairly equal, though one has its own bedroom. If you're looking for trendy decor, this isn't it. But comfortable, yes! Fantastic spot on the Russian River- good access, and no one across from you. We're used to staying in the Monte Rio area, but found we preferred Healdsburg, with its charm and great choice of restaurants. Quiet and clean. We met the friendly owner as we were checking in. Beautiful deck and places to sit on the property.
Quibbles: according to my cousins: creaky metal bed in back bedroom. Every time they moved it creaked- should be replaced. No lamp in front right bedroom, other than bedside lights. This could be easily remedied.
We all loved this place and hope to come back!
