The room was large by Japanese standards, but it's not sound proofed, as my room faced the main street, it was very noisy and I had a difficult time sleeping. Also the room was very dark, I would have preferred a lighter environment.

Great Onsen and bedrock sauna on 9th floor and outside tub and room very good. Breakfast and dinner included buffet style not very good but it is optional, not many options nearby. Located in a residential area, high on a hill overlooking the bay so good views but not convenient.

The bunk area was very nice - and the shower was right there and easily accessible. The breakfast was simple but they had gluten free options. It's almost right in the middle of town so everything is very close. The staff was knowledgable about options on the island.

Definitely the property is showing it's age，but it is a good deal for the money asked for. On the information page saying it is described as a smoke free hotel, but it is in fact a free to smoke hotel. There is an ash tray in the room I stayed......

And the dinners were quite disappointing relative to the price level and other meals we had with half board at other ryokans/hotels ...
