"The home was exactly as described, everything was clean and in working order. While the house is a little off the beaten path, and it was great to escape & enjoy the birds from the back porch area, it's still close enough to restaurants and stores. We felt very comfortable and safe. Would definitely recommend to others."

"Doug and Terri do an outstanding job of making the Mermaid Shack feel like home. Place is immaculate, and they even have coffee availale ! They are available for any questions or if you need anything. Home is close to stores and restaurants. We enjoy the Bay"

"Absolutely ruined our vacation we had planned for over 2 months. This house does NOT sleep 20 unless you have 8-10 people on the floor. Number and size of beds is NOT correct. Extremely disappointed in this host and the fact they just brushed it off as if it was our fault...They they falsely reported that the cancellation was due to my age not being of age...which is 100% FALSE....I am 43 yrs old and that is not the case. I suggest renters stay away from this place as I couldnt image what else they lied about in their listing. RENTER BEWARE"

"The room is tiny with basic stuff such as soap, shampoo, body wash, towels and wash cloth but with no hangers for cloths. When we checked in, we reported the broken blinds with picture 1,2 at bedroom, the host didn’t take any measure until we checked out but said no one reported before. This is terrible. To make it worse, the rental property title is misleading: the inflatable kayak is leaking and not working at all. We reported it and asked for reimbursement which was declined and the host told us: the inflatable kayak is for courtesy. I could not believe such saying: that is the major reason for me to book it to explore springs nearby, and selling point for this property I the title. We can rent better property with spacious rooms at the similar location with similar price. I would never recommend this place."
